I guess weather apps are part of what we would qualify part of our daily routine, personally I related myself to Google Apps. But they are a numerous amount of applications out there that shares a "fun" factor to the mix. We are taking a look at the RealWeather app from Poland-based designer Michał Sambora. Adding a semi-realistic 3D renders to the minimal UI, this app concept definitely gives the prime to the 3D merging together with a dark UI all across. Michał Sambora is a mobile UI/UX designer based in Krakow, Poland. We have featured his motion work before on ABDZ. Make sure to follow his work and experiments on Dribbble. Fresh concept I had back in January for very simple and clean weather app with realistic 3D weather conditions.. Doesn't matter if there is plenty of such already, had to try to make those lovely clouds and animate them in Houdini and C4D + Octane myself :D Credits to Josef Bsharah (http://www.josefbsharah.net) for inspiration and helping making it happen! Let's kick it off with 3D rendering from the mighty folks from RoomCR6 with their series entitled: Suprematism & Constructivism. Based on their fascination with Russian Art, they have been playing with Cinema4D and Arnold Render to bring the Suprematism Art movement from 1915 back to our modern time but by keeping its fundamental roots with circles, squares, lines, rectangles, and with a specific colour palette. The term Suprematism refers to an art based on “the supremacy of pure artistic feeling” rather than on visual depiction of objects. RoomCR6 is design studio based in London, UK. Founded by Hashmukh Kerai & Paul Stayt; they work mainly in Motion Graphics, Digital Design and Film Production. But they also work on self-initiated projects too, kind of like this one that we are featuring now. Suprematism was an art movement, focused on basic geometric forms, such as circles, squares, lines, and rectangles, painted in a limited range of colors. It was founded by Kazimir Malevich in Russia, in 1915. Photo Gallery More Links Make sure to follow RoomCR6 on Behance
Let's take a look at this cool series of digital art and set designs named: Unsmart Devices. Designed by the mighty folks from FOREAL Studio, it's a great study of creative explorations of what could be our everyday things if they were "unsmart". Having our share of several viral fail videos, let's just say that some of the concepts in this series revealed another aspect of us humans experimenting with objects that aren't necessarily right for its purpose. I let you be the judge! This is the work from FOREAL Studio who is a creative bunch from Trier, Germany. They focus their work mostly into art direction, illustration and digital art; we've also featured their work before on Abduzeedo. You should definitely follow their work on Behance if you haven't yet.
We would like to share a typography set of experiments for 36 days of type by the mighty folks over BÜRO UFHO. Based in Singapore, they are multi-disciplinary creative studio that focus their work into making brand stories through type, images, illustrations and layout. Working with clients like: BMW, Coca-Cola, HBO and more; I really like their motto at thinking that good design is a good life and being small = freedom to do things that matter. What is 36 Days of Type? It's a yearly open call inviting designers, illustrators and visual artists to share their view on the letters and numbers from our alphabet.
A few weeks ago, we’ve featured an architectural photo series by Clement Balavoine about his perspective of Tokyo. Now he is back with another project about what he is really passionate about - Fashion Design. It took me him 9 days to create a collection inspired by the work from Errolson Hugh and NikeLab. Even though, it’s only a concept but it’s such a great exercise to express your vision and as a Nike fan; these are really beautiful to look at. Clement Balavoine is a designer working in fashion and drawings. Clement had the privilege to work in places like: London, China and more; he has worked for a variety of brands. Clement also takes pictures as a passion and also being a creative to keep his mind inspired to make more. Inspired by the work of Errolson Hugh and NikeLab, I decided to design a capsule collection for ACG using new technologies like 3D Modeling and Prototyping to visualize and bring my ideas to life. The project was created in 9 days using various softwares such as Marvelous Designer, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Last month, we were all smashed by the trailer of the controversy and still in the making movie: Ghost in the Shell. I personally watched the trailer and loved it. I liked how they make an effort to keep it close as possible to the animated series. It’s also a great thing to have the Creator of GITS onboard as well. We are taking at the work from Furio Tedeschi and his 3D/digital art contribution to the project. Furio Tedeschi is a 3D character artist over Paramount Pictures . where he is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has created a lot of characters going from the Robocop that we've featuerd before, Stars Wars, Batman and even that monster from Stranger Things. Some of the modeling work I did for the GITS collaborative project. Special Thanks to Gavriil Afanasyev Klimov , Christopher James Ford , Colin Thomas and Vaughan Ling without these guys this project would not have been possible.
We would like to feature this lovely project for a great cause by Taylor James, a studio focusing their work into producing realistic stills, interactive animations and broadcast media but especially they are specializing in CGI combining with photography. For this project, it was a collection of videos for the treatment benefits for patients with Parkinson’s Disease, the combination of CGI and other mediums makes this work pretty unique and fitting right into its own style. The result of the campaign is just plain stunning, please take some time to watch the videos below. Hope you will like it! In partnership with PLBR, we crafted underwater ink flows to highlight the treatment benefits for patients with Parkinson’s Disease. In this visceral and immersive campaign, we combined practical photography with CGI VFX to achieve rich, detailed prints and carefully choreographed animations to create a memorable cross-media campaign. I am a big fan of the brand Under Armour, in my opinion the quality of their clothing is just that good and I really do love how they innovate all the time with the performance of their material to enhance your workout or your everyday life. Also every time I looked at their latest imagery, I can’t help to notice the beautiful work from Mike Campau in collaboration with Christopher Massaro, Kristian Espinosa and 9bStudios (Yazan Malkosh, Omar Malkosh, Maram Stash, and Jessica Kim). What I do enjoy about their work is how detailed it is and you can’t almost tell the difference from a photograph. Images created for launch of Swacket for Under Armour... part sweatshirt, part jacket. Full Jackets were created CGI using Marvelous Designer, Clo 3d, and MODO. Macro details were shot in studio and post processed to match campaign. More Information: http://mikecampau.com.
