Inspiration: Will Murai

October 13, 2008 from PauloGabriel's blog

What's up, people? I fell like it's been long time since I've last posted any article. Well, I come today bringing sweet illustration inspiration here from Brazil. Will Murai is a designer from São Paulo, and has been doing some great pieces for companies such as W/Brasil, Marvel Comics and DC comics.

For me his work got a lot of that "new found deviantArt artist", eventhough he's been out there for some time now. I think you'll really appreciate these as much as I do. It just makes me want to go to art school, seriously. You may visit his Portfolio, his page at inPrint or at DeviantArt. Anyways, enjoy! Cheers. ;)

On this tutorial I will be showing how to make a radical sequence just like the ones I posted last week. It's very simple and easy and after you read this you can go out and make your own sequence and become inspiration for those who never done it. Ok guys, so the first two things you will need to make your own radical sequence will be a digital camera and a radical friend or a radical stranger will also work hehe.

Wallpaper of the Week #7
The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for the Abduzeedo Icon Contest. It was my first experiment using Poser 7, a really nice software to design human forms in 3D. I highly recommend a visit to their site and download the demo, I'm sure it will be very useful for you.

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
