Sober Case Study by Adam Spizak

January 05, 2010

Today I decided to share another great case study from the master Adam Spizak. The Illustration is called "Sober" and it's very emotional and got a great story behind it. You will check step by step how it was done. Enjoy!

There's a shadow just behind me
Shrouding every step I take
Making every promise empty
Pointing every finger at me

Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over
Why can't we drink forever?
I just want to start this over

It's unsettling how quickly kids grow up these days.

It looks great, but I just don't fell the whole color or the main effect on this piece. It just seems a bit lq cause of it. Maybe it's just me, but that my opinion. Anyways it really is unique.

Hi Guys,

glad you like it, cheers.

The chain was made in Cinema 4D, the smoke is hand painted. (regualt fluffy brush from the standard set).

cheers,
adam.

Is the author aware of what the song "Sober" is about, or has he just picked those lyrics because the song has the same name? It's just that it's not the most appropriate choice in my opinion.

Not sure I like it - too much going on and it's not exactly subtle. A little contrived for my tastes but I can appreciate the skill needed to do it!
