14 Photography Masters
November 13, 2008
Since the very beginning of Abduzeedo, our team has been bringing cool photography inspiration for you. We've featured many awesome photographers, from the ones with innovative techniques to oldschool guys, and all that. And today we've made a list. We love lists. :)
From classic Alberto Korda to hyped Dave Hill, our list actually ins't that long, but we've tried to remember the photographers that inspired us in some way... and at the end, the magic number was 14. Of course there are more photo masters out there, and we wish to hear from you. Do you know a Photography Master we've missed? Drop a comment! Hope you all enjoy our selection! Cheers! ;)

Crappy timing for a post like this, got a freaking exam coming up haha, some great stuff over there tho i must say that some of these photographers have a very unique style, there are a lot of "unkown" photographers that preform really well, whats the diff between them and these? The true fact is that they are juts not well know or famous if you will....
But some nice inspiration over here..
Thanks

Every picture of this girl looks really interesting.
You missed David Hamilton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hamilton_(photographer)
He was the first one who started with that blurred photos..
Soooo beautiful list.. that's why I became a designer - Dave Hill is my favorite artist..:)
Wow, now those are without doubt some truly amazing photos.

Joey Lawrence as in the guy from Blossom? That last pic in his set was really nice. I think I'm partial to Pouya Dianat, whose work stood out the most.
it's hard to shoot digital without passing it through imaging software...
for that matter, these talents really are masters!
Cool
KEEP UP WITH THIS PHOTOGRAPHY INSPIRATION!!! Really cool tips and data!!
hey you people forgot about the best ever, Estevan Oriol
Wonderful photographs! Very inspirations.
Thank you!
Very nice shots.
the vast majority are well and truly over-manipulated.
photoshop and it's ilk has a lot to answer for by making people believe that a well manipulated photograph was of any consequence in the first place.
you can probably take any photo nowadays and with a little knowledge and the right plugin make it look interesting.
if you ran this under the heading 14 master manipulators i'd be more inclined to say great!
This is it does not get any better...
Not a one on my list....
These photographs are ok, I wouldn't necessarily say they are all photography masters. Check out Robert and Shana Parkeharrison.
Very nice collection of photographers. Pouya is a photo god.

Great list. I discovered Paul Armstrong some time ago on Flickr. Forgot to bookmark him, wasn't able to visit him again. Now your list is like a gift to me. Thanks for bringing him back. Respect to the rest on the list.

Some good choices. Here are some for the future perhaps.

Keep up the good work!
WoW, fantastic selection!
Wonderful photographs! Very inspirations.
Thank you!
What about anyone from VII photo? Dahl-Wolfe, Ansel Adams, Dave Duncan, Furuya, Lartigue McCullin, Friedlander, Felix Man, Henri-fucking-Cartier-Bresson? The "Decisive Moment"?!!!!? Jesus fucking Christ.
STUNNING!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Nick Brewer has good anti-gravity shots
'Masters' is a pretty heavy term. I know one of these guys personally and while talented, he wouldn't call himself a master. And I don't know Joey L, but I do know he's something like 20 years old and definitely does not quality as a master of anything. I agree with some of the comments above, these are more exercises in photoshop than in photography, but this blog is more about Photoshop, so I guess it makes sense.

Work of inspiration. And yes I agree with my friend Dainis Graveris, i.e, you missed David Hamilton. He is a genius too. Anyway keep up the good work going.
I would hardly call cut and pasted daisies a stroke of a "master"

I'm impressed by the photos - how in the world did you manage to get the copyright to use all of them? Must have cost you a fortune!
