You guys don't know how DeviantArt works. Buying prints is not about buying the virtual image, but a real picture, or canvas print, do you understand? There's also a download button. You should click that, not the buy this print one. ;)

I'm really confused as to why my image has been posted here as a "texture." That is not a texture. It is a wallpaper made entirely by me, and owned by me. I did not give permission for it to be used in other people's artwork. Sure, you are more than welcome to use my image as your own WALLPAPER, but you are NOT allowed to take my image and manipulate it to make your own pieces of artwork!

I am flattered that you enjoy my art, but I am also disappointed that you did not ask my permission you use my image. You should notice that the other images here are either from a website such as cgtextures, which means you are allowed to use them as "textures," or if they are posted at deviantart, then the artist has posted something like "terms of use" or "please comment if you use," which implies that you are allowed to use their image. NOWHERE did I make any such indication that you are free to use my image for whatever purpose you desire!

And like I said, I'm rather confused how this happened in the first place. My image does not look like "a texture" to me. Sure it has texture in it, but the image itself is NOT a texture, and it is NOT to be used as such!

Sorry if I sound angry/upset, but it is rather frustrating to have your artwork "stolen" like this.

To anyone who found the link to my image here and used my art as "a texture," I'm sorry that you have been mislead to believe that it is free to use. I ask that if you have created your own piece of artwork using my image, please respect my right to ownership of this image and kindly edit your art, so that it doesn't incorporate mine.

I hope I do not sound like a selfish jerk. I am all for sharing information and ideas. I made this image entirely from scratch using the open source program GIMP, so I very much appreciate free stuff and shared knowledge. In fact, I myself have made a few tutorials (some of which can be found in my deviantart gallery) for GIMP to share my techniques with others. I have also posted a pack of fractals on deviantart, which I made in the freeware program Apophysis, and they are freely available for anyone to use as they wish.

But this image is not freely available for any use, and to assume so, without any indication from the artist, and without even bothering to ask, is pretty much stealing in my opinion.

It says "©2008 ~greentunic" below the image for a reason!

Again, I will stress that you are more than welcome to use my wallpaper image as your own wallpaper. That is why I haven't added a watermark to the image at deviantart. But I did add a new comment in the image's description, stating some of the comments I have mentioned here.

For any of you who are unfamiliar with deviantart, you should not used a piece of artwork you found there unless the artist has stated that it is free for any use. And if you are ever in doubt, please just ask!

You should not even post someone else's artwork at another website without asking for their permission first, but to also tell other people that they are free to use the artists work, when you did not even ask, is just crazy in my opinion! I ask that you please remove my image from your list of "free textures."

I decided to go ahead and add a watermark to my image at deviantart until you remove my artwork from your list of "free textures."

As a designer yourself, Mr. Paulo, I'm sure you, yourself, wouldn't want people to use and manipulate your work without your expressed permission.
