30 Totally Cool Band Posters

July 14, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

Some friends of mine play in a instrumental rock band called "Você Nunca Viu". They got a pretty cool sound, and one of the things I like the most about indie bands in general are the posters! Yes, posters play a big role for these bands.

Yesterday, during my daily visits, I found a great site about posters, and mostly about bands! Gigposters.com has got hundreds of posters, and here's a few of them, which I bet you'll all enjoy. Illustrations, collages, photography: there's everything in here. For more, check out Gigposters.com. And if you got a band poster, show us! Cheers. ;)

Hey guys! For this tutorial/making of I created a fun illustration for my sister Stella's blog. In her blog she writes about funny daily situations and I thought that it would be nice to develop an illustration that expressed that somehow. I hope that this step by step help the new designers and illustrators. So, prepare yourself, and continue reading because even though it is a quite long post I hope it might be useful for your illustration projects. Also, feel free to share your thoughts with comments. Step 1 - Brainstorming ftw

The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for the tutorial L.A Noire Neon Style in Photoshop inspired by the game L.A Noire. I really like that effect and it looks great on a wallpaper. The book suggestion of this week is a very inspiring one for those in love with vintage typography, it's called Scripts: Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age. It's definitely a book for when you need some extra motivation and inspiration. About the book Elegant, quirky, fluid, brutish, ostentatious— a visual resource of cursives and other typefaces that resemble handwriting.
