45 Great Tilt-shift Photographs
Tilt-shift photography is a technique of photographing using a special configuration at your camera so that you can capture the scene in a miniature scale. Tilt-shift actually stands for two different types of movements to get the photo: rotation of the lens relative to the image plan - called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane - called shift. This miniature effect can also be reached at photoshop as you will be able to check out at the tutorials links mentioned here.
This post was suggested by one of our readers, tiltshift (Yuri). When I received his suggestion and started to research more about the technique I was pretty impressed because I actually didn't know how the effect was done. And worst, don't laugh at me, I always thought that those images were real... little people and little things putted into very little scenarios. :)
So now that I learned more about this I want to share this images with you and encourage you to read more about this kind of photography.

Thanks for the tip Raineshine!
I will also try. :)
Is this photoshopped or is it an actual technique? If so, where do I learn it? Awesome!
@Lex It's both. You can buy lens like LensBaby that are tilted already. Or use PS to 'fake' it. Check here for some Tilt Shift photos.

What's the advantage of using a special lens over using Photoshop? I think you have more control when you use Photoshop, or am I wrong?

lol some of them looks like a miniature.nice
One of my favourite effects. Excellent examples, thanks for collecting them.
Lex Vilanova, I posted a quick way of making a tilt shift effect on my site.
Awesome collection!
Also it's pretty easy to fake this effect in Photoshop by using duplicate layer of blurred original image and applying gradient as mask of that layer.
Very Cool. I love the look of tilt shift photography. Everything looks mini.
This si a pretty interesting effect. I've never seen it before. Are there any places that teach how to do this with the camera??
The X-Mas/Train one IS miniature.
Great collection. Some are truly unbelievable.
SWEEEEEEET
It's one thing to use a program to do this... When I went to community college someone in the black and white photography class was able to create this affect using ONLY a MANUAL SLR camera and black & white film.
So until I see it again without using photoshop or the like... then it will get my respect. I'm not saying they are poorly done, but it seems a lot of the art in life is getting replaced by filters and software.
Oh and by the way.. that was in reference to the software post... not the actual photography
Thanks for the collection, great job.
