I personally never been a really big fan of this lightning effects, but you got some great example of how it can be used!

Yeah some nice ones, but some really shitty ones too...

I really like the light effects with the vibrant colors.
This will give me certainly some inspiration.

I hate how designers just throw a bunch of light tentacles over a photo, darken the background and people drool all over it. Some of these are great images, but a lot of them lack a lot compositionally.
