85 Great Tattoos as Art and Inspiration #2
July 09, 2009
As our previous 85 Great Tattoos as Art and Inspiration post was a big hit and we received several comments about it from our readers, we decided to do a sequence of it! The difference is that for this one we pick some samples of the work from the artists and studios that the readers suggested at the last post. As we received a huge amount of suggestions we will have to brake them to be able to show all of it to you... so here goes the part 2 of the 85 Great Tattoos as Art and Inspiration. Hope you like it!!
Click at the images or at the artists/studios name to visit their website! And thanks for all the comments and suggestions... Enjoy! :)

hey! great collection! thank you for post!
Dude, its all so darkish. But awesome if you're so good that you can make these things!
WoW, awesome post. Some of these tattoo artists have extreme skill and creativity. Thanks!
Still want to suggest checking out Oddball Studios in Portland, OR. They have some awesome pics on their website oddballstudios[dot]com.
Great selection this time around!! I was really happy to see artists who aren't already getting exposure on television.
Some of these are pretty freakin' nuts! I think all of them have alot of creativity, but I couldn't imagine having some of these demonic ones on my body.
Anyways, great collection. What's tattoo art? Graphic design or Print Media? haha
Well, I can't believe people have all that crap on their body, none of them were really striking… Thanks for the post anyway.
I dont know how people could put so much ink on their bodies, AND have the imagery so destructive and dark. The artists are brilliant, too bad these arent on canvas.
Dude, its all so darkish.
Amazing! Each piece is so intricate, they could have been drawn/airbrushed.
They are walking works of art.
Why is Jesus smoking a joint and throwing up peace signs?
Amazing... just like these guys from Holland: http://www.tattoomania.nl/
What's wrong with you tree-huggin' hippies? THEY'RE TATTOOS. They're SUPPOSED to be EVIL!
There's some REALLY amazing work in this post. Thank you, GisMullr! I can't wait to see the next one!
great collection. thanks for sharing
check out Mark of Cain; he always works freehand and is very true to the art. Some of his before and after where he "fixes" bad work are pretty interesting. Sweet post.
Lots of great work but lots of horrible tattoo ideas.
Women + Tatoo = Hot!
Awesome, Steve Moore is the shit
What a rad art form
Awesome. I love the 'best of tattoo'! always looking for inspiration for my next tatt :)
Sabine Gaffron is really awesome. I was tattooed by her. =)
Lovely collection.
thanks...great post!
hehehe last time someone posted a tattoo collection i said it was crap and left a list of all artist that are gret and most of them are included on this list. ;)
Wow! I can appreciate the artistic skill but cannot imagine having to look at some of these scary images permanently on my body (or my spouse's body). Seems like the wearer must be tormented inside. I like the pretty and colorful tattoos. Even though I would never put something permanent on my own body, Miami Ink is one of my favorite tv shows...I enjoy the artists and the client's backstories.
