Amazing Video Inspiration: LONECLONE VFX

October 10, 2008 from abduzeedo's blog

The video of the week is the stunning LONECLONE VFX Reel. It was a suggestion from a reader and I was totally amazed by the Hannes Appell work, a digital artist from Erlangen, Bavaria. I highly recommend that you check his site out at http://loneclone.de/

Hannes Appell started LONECLONE VFX as a brainstorming experiment in 2002 and after several successful recloning procedures it's more alive than ever in the year 2008 and beyond!

Infusing digital artistry with the perfection of digital cloning, LONECLONE delivers visual effects for feature films, TV projects, commercials, video or pc games.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an underwater scene as inspired by the opening titles of I, Robot, the movie. We will create a brush that will be used to add the bubbles and explore a technique to make your scenes look more realistic. The whole process is quite simple, and it takes less than 1 hour to go through all the steps. Step 1 Open Pixelmator and create a new document, the one I’m using is 1440×900 pixels. After that, fill the background layer with black.?
