February 24, 2010 from PauloGabriel's blog

Some time ago I found a great blog on concept ships. There were some great designs over there, really worth checking out. So the time came for us to share it with you guys. The blog is simply called Concept Ships, and I choose some of the best designs I could find there.

I hope you all enjoy these, and don't forget to visit the blog for much more of these bad boys. Cheers! ;)

Easy Star Light in Photoshop
Easy Star Light in Photoshop
I've been writing tutorials inspired by skateboard deck designs for a few weeks and today it's not going to be different. I'm very addicted to that, I love the ideas some of the designers have and for this tutorial I will recreate a really nice effect with lines forming a star. However I will go a little bit further and I will transform it in a light effect and add a nice pattern overlay. Everything using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Book Suggestion

Book Suggestion: Brazilian Graphic Design Timeline
Book Suggestion: Timeline of Graphic Design in Brazil
As the name implies, this book (but I dare call a Bible) tells the story of graphic design in Brazil in a very intelligent way and brings a wealth of incredible images and with a touch of nostalgia for most Brazilians.
