Awesome Strange Creatures by Imaginism Studios

August 05, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

Lately, looking for cool illustrations, I've got to know many awesome studios, like the Udoncrew (responsable for many of those great illustrations of Ryu and Chun-Li). Yesterday I found another one: Imaginism. I knew some of their work already, and I gotta tell you, they rock.

You might be familiar with the Big Bad Bunny Eater, that enormous green creature with a bunny like spot on the face. Well it comes to be that Imaginism makes a lot of these creatures. Lots of them, and that's really the cool part: they not only come up with different creatures, but their painting style is also pretty awesome! I've selected these 30 illustration from their DeviantART portfolio, but I recommend you to check more of their work both in DA and in their website. It's really worth the visit! Hope you enjoy these! Cheers. ;)

Embroidery Effect with Illustrator and Photoshop
Embroidery Effect with Illustrator and Photoshop
I have received quite a few emails asking me how to create a embroidery effect in Photoshop. It is a really nice effect and I had no idea how to do that in Photoshop. So one of these days while running I sort of had this idea of using the Scribble effect in Illustrator and then going to Photoshop to make it look real. After giving it a try I got a very nice result and that is what I share with you today.

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
