Banksy tours America

August 31, 2008 from Francisco's blog

Banksy is in the news again this week. First because he tried to donate a piece of art to the Labour Party in the UK and second because he is currently taking a tour across America spreading his politically-toned outdoor urban art.

Banksy tried donating a piece of art to the Labour Party in the UK but unfortunately due to his anonymous identity they couldn't accept it. Read more about it here.

Here is the piece that was donated:

Banksy is traveling across America right now placing pieces of his graffiti art in cities that have experienced certain problems recently (and in history). On his website you can view his progress. So far he's been to New Orleans and Alabama. Can't wait to see where he goes next.

Here are a select few from New Orleans and the last one is from Alabama:

About the author

Hi readers!
I'm a Graphic Designer in New York City (Brooklyn!). NY is a hub for design and my posts will try to focus on, but will not be limited to, design related things happening in NY, such as museum exhibits, architecture, events, local artist interviews, galleries, etc. I'm very much into technology and art and how they intersect to make multimedia art installations. Hope you enjoy my posts!

Simple Roy Lichtenstein Style in Illustrator and Photoshop
I have been playing with the Halftone filter in Photoshop for the past few weeks and trying different things we can do with it. I also discover the Width Tool in Illustrator CS 5 and it was a great surprise because now we have much more freedom when playing with strokes. So with these two things in mind I decided that I had to create an image using them, and then the idea of a design inspired in Roy Lichtenstein.
