Beautiful Fashion Photos by Jake Garn

July 08, 2009 from GisMullr's blog

Jake Garn is a photographer hobbyist with an insatiable need to create for as long as he can remember, whether it was drawing, building a fort, or even writing an unfinished novel. It was in the mid-nineties during a simple Introduction to Photography course that the seed for photographing was planted and Jake started his love affair with it! Since then he has produced some really beautiful photos as we will show here.

"Specializing in whimsical fashion. I love color, I love crazy, I love beauty, I love a dash of humor in my images and I love my wife, dog and cat… not necessarily in that order.” Jake Garn

I bumped into his work when I was doing my regular research for our Daily Inspiration post. I really liked the impression his images left on me: simplicity and beauty. I liked the photos and the way that they are composed without over productions, it gives us the sensation that the models are natural, maybe photoshop retouched but not "made on it". Here is a selection of Jake's fashion photos and portraits for you to admire. I hope you like them.

Create a Badass Gas Mask in Illustrator
Hi everyone, it's been a while since I dropped my last illustrator tutorial and so I decided to teach a really classy lesson this time. I've been a huge fan of vector art ever since I started working as an art director then as an illustrator. And I always appreciated the work of some of the masters like Pale Horse Design, Hydro 74 and Chris Vector. Their extremely detailed illustrations are really eye catching and sharp, I always wanted to understand how they do that.

Book Suggestion: Timeline of Graphic Design in Brazil
As the name implies, this book (but I dare call a Bible) tells the story of graphic design in Brazil in a very intelligent way and brings a wealth of incredible images and with a touch of nostalgia for most Brazilians.
