Beautiful Hand Drawn Websites

Illustrations are a nice way to give to your site a less formal style. With hand drawings, the style gets even less formal and also it gives to the site a super unique feel, allowing the designer to show off his/her skills. This type of element can be used for small details or even for the whole site layout. One thing is almost certainty, hand drawings will make your site looks more friendly, however it's very important to find the balance and make sure that they fit with the theme and subject of your site.
In this post I will show you some beautiful hand drawn websites. They push the style close to the perfection, in my opinion, and I'd like you to pay attention to the usage, as I said, in some cases they use the hand drawings just for details, while in others, it's the whole site. I hope you like them

A great collection of "hand illustrated" sites. There is definately a time and a place for these kinds of design elements. I used hand drawn cartoons on a web site I did for a children's book author.

This stuff really excites me. I carry a sketchbook in my bag at all times, and now I'm thinking of implementing my sketches into my next web design. This style is the way to go for the coming year, or so I read.

I really enjoy posts about hand drawn websites, or even elements of a web design being hand drawn, just gives it a unique and eclectic feel. There are some stunning examples above, it works best for a personal website, like a portfolio, yet carsonified have made it work for them, but using a more structured layout have helped.

I like the way some sites have managed to incorporate hand drawn elements into their business web designs - it's tricky to make hand drawn sites to look really professional. These are some excellent examples.

These are great! I really like Elsie's (The art one). It's totally creative.
Very clever designs. Great list of interesting sites. I think many would be surprised at how many designs are actually "hand drawn" these days though. How else would you get unique design elements? Otherwise it's just a template.
