The idea in this series is to show beautiful and inspiring houses. Houses that are remarkable for its design, elegance, elements, concept or simply because they are beautiful. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more...
This week we present you the beautiful H-House.
The H-House is a project by Widjedal Racki Bergerhoff Architects, a firm founded by Hakan Widjedal, Natasha Racki and Philip Bergerhoff in 2004. The H-House is a project completed in 2006, it is a private residence in the archipelago of Stockholm situated on a beautiful site overlooking the ocean. As in many of their projects, WRB Architects a great emphasis was put on exploring the border between inside and outside, building and nature. The main materials used are: concrete, rusty steel, untreated pine wood, oiled wenge and water. The H-shape of the project helps creating intimate and wind protected courtyards that prolong the summer season and offer great natural lightning to the house.
This is a really elegant house. The mix of elements and the dark materials contrasting with neutral decoration elements create a really beautiful and cozy atmosphere. The house looks elegant without being intimidating, it actually invites you in... the huge glass windows are also an element I really like, so this is surely another house I wouldn't mind living in.
Check out Widjedal Racki Bergerhoff Architects website for further details about their projects. See you next time. :)
We found this house at Comtemporist.
