Beautiful Packages: Bottles

August 11, 2010 from GisMullr's blog

I already mentioned that I simply love package design. I do believe that, depending on the audience, a product can stand out for its package. For example, I'm a person who sometimes choose a product by its package... and lately I'm really digging some bottle designs. The elegant way designers choose colors and labels are really getting my attention. Some bottles have a minimal and clean look while others are colorful and full of elements, they have a design for every possible taste. And another thing I think is brilliant its when the designer uses the product's color to play at its package... the transparency of the water or the shades of certain wines for example.

Well, here is a selection I made from the awesome website Lovely Package - a site that you must visit if you are also a package lover! Here you will see some beautiful and inspiring bottles. Enjoy it...

Creating Smoke
Some time ago I had posted an article showing how to create a smoke effect in photoshop, and to achieve that I used a photo of smoke and some photoshop filters. However, some people had said at the time that I should have done the smoke as well and it´s exactly what I will show on this post right now. I had previously thought about what would be the best way to create smoke in photoshop, and I’ve read some tutorials online and watched some episodes of the amazing pixelPerfect podcast, to find a good and easy solution for the matter at hand.
