Beautiful Photos by Ryan Matthew Smith

December 09, 2010 from GisMullr's blog

I was browsing around when I bumped into the work of Ryan Matthew Smith, which got my attention right away. His photos are pretty elegant and beautiful. The compositions, color combination and perspectives are simple and pretty unique...the images get our attention and we keep observing the details and shapes of each piece for a while - at least that happened with me. ;)

Check out a small selection from Ryan's work here and visit his website for more inspiring photos.

Ryan Matthew Smith graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle in 2007. Since late 2007 Ryan has been employed at Intellectual Ventures as digital imaging editor and photographer. Ryan was the principal photographer and photo editor for book Modernist Cuisine, the Art and Science of Cooking. (the book will be released in March of 2011)

Fantastic Disintegration Effect inspired by Watchmen in Photoshop
Last week I went to the movies to see Watchmen, an amazing movie with beautiful special effects. However, one in special caught my attention. It was the Dr. Manhattan transformation, so I decided to create something inspired by that scene using Photoshop. In this tutorial I will show you how to create the disintegration effect using brushes and the blur filter. It's really simple and you will be able to create nice designs using this sort of trendy style of effect.

The wallpaper of this week is an image created by Elena Savitskaya a Graphic and Web Designer, based in London. She comes from a Marketing Management background and when it comes to Graphic Design she has her own definitions of goals that designers need to achieve. In her opinion, it’s not all about “pretty graphics”. My yearly project. New 2010 free wallpaper for your desktop guys Next year is a year of the tiger, my year so wish me luck, hopefully it will be a better year for me than it was in this one.
