Beautiful Underground Photography

August 26, 2011 from PauloGabriel's blog

Some people are afraid of being underground, but thankfully some photographers don't fit those shoes, and because of that, we are delivered with some great underground photography. Also, I tend to suspect that hipsters love it.

These are some amazing examples of underground photography, man-made or not. Mostly tunnels, but also some natural scenarios, pretty awesome. These were taken by some great photographers, which will love if you paying them a visit (just gotta click each pic to go to their portfolios). I wonder, do your got your own underground photographs? Show us! I hope you enjoy these. Cheers. ;)

Photoshop Quick Tip: Overprocessing in Photography
Tools such as Photoshop and Lightroom have allowed photographers to manipulate images in ways once never imaginable. These innovations have lead to increase of photographers known for their "surreal" imagery or extreme processing. One artist quite known for his processing is Dave Hill. You may remember us covering Dave Hill in previous posts. This "Dave Hill" look is most common in band photography.

The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for the last week's tutorial in which I showed how to create a embroidery effect using Illustrator and Photoshop. I really like the result and have been using this wallpaper since then. For more information take a look at the tutorial: Embroidery Effect with Illustrator and Photoshop

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
