The Best Illustrations of 2010

December 14, 2010 from PauloGabriel's blog

Another year is about to end, and it's time to remember the coolest things we've seen this year. After looking at most of my favorite illustrations of 2010, and I've made just the perfect selection.

Most of these were featured here at Abduzeedo before in featured artists' posts, and some are totally new here. This is the crème de la crème of 2010, and I know that you guys will love them. Also, this is something to inspire you to evolve your work and get your game on so that in 2011 you get featured here. Don't forget to visit each artist's page for more of these great illustrations. These guys totally rock and deserve to be here. And, if you think I've missed a specific illustration, just point it out to us! We'd love to see your picks. Cheers! ;)

Wallpaper of the Week #106 - Fabio Sasso
The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for a project where the client asked me to play with lens flare. I know it's the most hated filter ever but we can create really nice thing with it as long we avoid the default settings. This image is also inspired by some videos of lens flares plugins for After Effects. I will create a tutorial showing how I did that, it will be up soon. Desktop Version

Book Suggestion: Scripts: Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age
The book suggestion of this week is a very inspiring one for those in love with vintage typography, it's called Scripts: Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age. It's definitely a book for when you need some extra motivation and inspiration. About the book Elegant, quirky, fluid, brutish, ostentatious— a visual resource of cursives and other typefaces that resemble handwriting.
