This week we will have a cool wallpaper from the AudioJungle Wallpaper contest. There were so many awesome designs and the winners are really good, however we decided to pick another one, a dark and cool wallpaper from Victor Sutardja . In this tutorial I will show you how to create a very nice image inspired by the amazing work of Andy Gilmore. If you don't know who he is, I highly recommend you to check his work out. He creates images combining vectors and blend modes to create astonishing designs, and that is what we are going to do. We will use Illustrator and Photoshop in this tutorial.

When designing we have to think about the goals of our project, the audience and what we want them to feel when seeing our design. Among all areas of a design project, color selection is one of the most important. They can make our design look cold, warm, retro, futuristc, vintage, etc. Because of that a good color scheme can make your work look much more professional.

Last week wrote a post about video tutorials and thought I would start making some. So yesterday, even though I’m on vacations and it was Sunday I decided to try some tools and see how they would work. I did a very short tutorial just to see how long I would take to create a tutorial and how hard that task would be.

Last night I was reading the news and I saw that PSDTUTS now has a video page on VIMEO. I checked that out and it’s really good. They are making videos of the PSDTUTS tutorials. There are some of my tuts in video already, so I decided to share here too.

I'm a huge fan of Photoshop, it's a fantastic tool for pretty mucha anything, however when it comes to web design my favorite tool has to be Fireworks. I've been using Fireworks since I don't know when but I can say that its vector capabilities combined with pixel precision positioning make very easy to design websites.

Flickr is such a great place to find inspiration. There are people from all over the world sharing their art, and it's amazing to see all the different perspectives from all sorts of subjects.
