Cool Web Image Editor: Sumopaint

June 20, 2008 from PauloGabriel's blog

We've seen some cool web apps come out this year, like Aviary, and now I've came to know a new one: Sumopaint. It's simpler than Aviary, but you can still make some cool stuff there.

Most of the images in their gallery remind me a lot of the expressionism school, which Van Gogh was part of. I recommend to you all to visit there and play around with it. As our friend Mikko suggested, try out the symmetry tool with the gravity on. I must say, the results are really cool. Cheers!

In this tutorial, I will demonstrate how to create a very nice abstract effect, using the super cool Travelator filter. I will make use of some of the Quartz Composer filters in order to show the many different exciting effects that can be achieved with them. Step 1 Open Pixelmator and create a new document. Let’s go ahead and use a size of 1920×1200 pixels. Next, fill the background layer with black.
