The Creative Work of Vanessa Dualib

February 07, 2011 from GisMullr's blog

Everyday we receive emails from our readers suggesting artists for us to write about, and this is pretty cool since we get to know tons of new and creative artists. Today we will present you the work of Vanessa Dualib, which was presented to us by our reader Michelle Cleef. ;)

Vanessa is a photographer who was born in São Paulo but spent an interesting amount of her life traveling and working abroad. She already worked in Disneyland and in a ship, those big fancy cruisers ships. All this traveling and meeting people influenced her creative way as you will see below. Check out more about her and her work at webiste or her Flickr gallery.

The projects "Eggventures of Eggbert" and "Playing with Food" started in 2009 inside Flickr. It all started as another personal project to put together 3 things I like: photography, humor and food. Eventually I noticed that I was not the only one that liked those 3 things and people all over the world started to enjoy my project. Last year a publisher got interested and got in touch to publish my work in Brazil.

Sonudos Case Study by Jennifer Cirpici
Sonudos Case Study by Jennifer Cirpici
The image of this Study Case I'm about to explain is made for the client Soundos. She's a comedian in The Netherlands. I worked on it at work for 2 days, around 13 hours. It was a fun project and the client was very happy with it when it was done. And when the client is happy, I can consider it done. First version Here is the first version. Nothing special about it yet; basically I've rendered her and searched for a nice background to put her in. It was important that the whole image was capable for her site (www.soundos.nl) and that the perspective was right.

Wallpaper of the Week #28 - Halloween
It's Halloween time and I decided to do something related to the subject. As I was playing with Cinema 4D I thought it would be nice to create a ghost or something like that using the amazing Cloth simulators in Cinema 4d. I will write a tutorial showing how I did that probably next week ;) Desktop Version iPhone Version

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
