Designing web banners
When we think about web design, we always think about designing cutting edge sites, tons of information and integration. However, theres always the banners to to keep in mind. Who has never had to design a banner, I'm sure we all have.
I know this list might be a bit odd, but designing a banner is actually quite a big challenge. Within that banner, we have to sell the image of our company and or product within a little image, and to make matters worse, often among other banners.
In this post I've selected some banners that I think are very well done. Some are pretty common and you may have seen them before, but not in the same place. Besides that, it's going to be useful when you have to design your next banner, and I know you will.
Small Banners
Medium Banners
Large Banners

I'm with Andrei, a simple, classy banner catches my eye. All of the animated stuff gets passed right by because it's so common and overbearing that I just shut it right out. A small glint or movement of a highlight is nice, but that's as far as I'll go...unless, of course, the client wants more. In the end, I guess we're all really just hookers and whores to the client...
Although I agree with the previous two posts, in a world flooded with 'cheap' animation (gif) banners, let me tell you that I always appreciate a tasty, nicely done classic banner.
Unfortunately, good animation banners you can find them only on large portals ran by big corps with deep pockets.
Agree with SlowX comments!!
Animation and interaction are the best way to be noticed in a busy busy world of web banners!!
I wrote a bit about this a while back!

Good collection of banners abduzeedo man! Will definitely bookmark this for future use when creating them, Thanks!
Nice overall layouts, but...
No animation? No motion? No interactivity?
just some thoughts.
Thanx a lot :)
Great post.
