Mobile Photography: First unedited images taken with the Pixel 2

Mobile Photography: First unedited images taken with the Pixel 2

Over the long Weekend, Google has released a bunch of photos that were taken with their latest Pixel 2. It looks quite stunning and they are unedited! From the announcement, I was a bit disappointed that the camera didn't change since the original Pixel. But my feedback is quite redeeming itself with what they are promising and what they called: "computational photography". Equipped with a single 12MP camera with a f/1.8 aperture and 1.4μm pixels; the Pixel 2 (judging by this collection) is also moving ahead with their portrait mode feature that looks quite beautiful as well. All that jazz to be saying that I am very excited about what's to come with the Pixel 2, I can't wait to test it out in the wild. What do you think about these pictures? Taking great photos and videos is one of the things you do most with your phone, so we set out to deliver the best photography experience. You get stunningly crisp, clear, and detailed photos in any light. You can also take high-quality portrait shots with the perfect background blurs, from both the front and back camera. New motion photos capture a few seconds of video around the shot so you can relive the moment around the picture. The Pixel 2 camera is powered by our computational photography and machine learning (ML) capabilities which make all these great features easy, fun and fast for you to use. Mobile Photography: Moment V2 Review with Google Pixel

Mobile Photography: Moment V2 Review with Google Pixel

Moment is easily one of my favourite brands out there. It's a statement that goes a long way from their innovation, sense of humor, content and more. They are actually giving us and building tools to improve our mobile photography. They do believe that the best camera is the one that you always carry with you. I am quite a believer in that notion. With their latest V2 gear, I was one of their backers from their Kickstarter campaign and I ordered the photo case for the Google Pixel. Combined Moment with what "used" to be the best camera out there, the results are just incredible. Let's dive into the review! My gear for the review Google Pixel Photo Case New Wide Lens Lens Pen Original Lens Adapter Welcome to Moment V2 Links For more information, check out Moment Follow Moment on Instagram Subscribe to Moment on YouTube Shown is Photo Case (V2) and Original Photo Case (V1) My Impressions Coming from the first generation of Moment, this is an immense upgrade. Huge! For starters, the industrial design for the cases has been changed from scratch. It's a totally new design. You get a refined slim design that still gives that everyday protection that you can attach with ease. Believe me, I have kids and they have dropped my phone many many times. Most importantly, it became even easier to attach a lens and boy it does feel solid in your pocket or backpack. It's a functional case where I feel this might the last case that you will ever need. Shown is Original Lens Adapter Caring for all the details A little accessory that proves how Moment cares for their users and their brand. They have been producing what they called: Original Lens Adapter. What does it do? Well, it's an adapter for your V1 lenses on the new mounting system (V2). It's a small detail but it's giving support for those who choose to purchase the new photo case without buying any new lenses. One thing though, once you attach that lens adaptor to your V1 lenses, just safely know that you will hardly be able to take it off ever again. Product Gallery   New Wide Lens With the current Google Pixel, we don't have the luxury of having a dual camera lenses if we compared to the iPhone 8 Plus for example. Even though I don't personally think it's necessary to own a Tele lens. I am sure it's great but I am having this feedback based on the everyday use. Where I would put my investment on is the V2 Wide Lens, without a doubt. First of all, it's a new design from its predecessor, I would say that is almost twice bigger and it's awesome. Having this lens mounted on your case, you will never want to take it off. It feels strong, well-fitted and doesn't bother much on the balance when you are holding it. The result? The "5 layer aspherical optics" actually makes your pictures vibrant and giving you a stunning wide perspective. V2 Wide Lens in the Wild Final Words Moment V2 is totally worth your investment! They are building the best of the best for us makers to keep on making and elevate our photography game. My ace to Moment for keeping us wanting for more and being part of our everyday carry. One tiny tip to end this review, take a look at their wide range of accessories including the useful Lens Pen. More Links Follow my tweets @aoirostudio Follow me on Instagram

Mobile Photography: #ShotoniPhone8Plus

It's been more than 5 days since the release of the iPhone 8 / 8Plus. Do you have one? Are you still indecisive? Aside from all its premium features, I am more interested in the camera since it's more in-line with what is my criteria from a phone, especially being a nerd with mobile photography. I did some surfing on Instagram and I tried to find images that rocked the iPhone 8 Plus camera which is a Dual 12 MP, (28mm, f/1.8, OIS & 56mm, f/2.8), phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED (dual tone) flash. What do you think? If you would like to know more about the iPhone 8 / 8Plus or purchase yours, check out the Apple iPhone 8 site. "A new generation of iPhone." Mobile Photography: Exploring Dubai & the Burj Khalifa

Mobile Photography: Exploring Dubai & the Burj Khalifa

Mobile photography seems to be easy task because you are using your smartphone, that you carrying everyday but it's not. Finding the right perspective, light setting, subject are all part of what goes through your mind before the shot. What if you're using a 23 megapixels smartphone, would it help? Well, that was Mikael Buck's task during his latest traveling to London, Paris and Dubai for which we are featuring today with the Burj Khalifa. The world's tallest building at 828 meters high, where Mikael explored Dubai for Sony's #NewPerspectives campaign. This photo series has been shot by Mikael Buck who is a photographer based in London, UK. We have featured his work before on ABDZ and you should definitely check out his site for more of his work. The idea was to photograph the world's most Instragrammed landmarks in a unique way to show how you can break out of tired cliches. I was lucky enough to get sent to cover Big Ben, The Eiffel Tower and the mighty Burj Khalifa (the world's tallest building at a mere 828 meters high). We look forward to see what you will come up with on to the next photo challenge! For this week, we went with the hashtag: --> #abdz_minimalism. Minimalism is a pretty common term that we've once expressed our interest for. The interesting part with this week's challenge is that we all have our own vision of minimal so it will be quite interesting to see your own vision of minimal. @abduzeedo A post shared by Fabio Sasso (@abduzeedo) on Mar 7, 2017 at 9:40pm PST @abduzeedo A post shared by Fabio Sasso (@abduzeedo) on Mar 8, 2017 at 9:30pm PST @redshoebear A post shared by Manuel Lopez Ruiz (@redshoebear) on Dec 17, 2015 at 2:33pm PST @jmxma A post shared by Justin Ma (@jmxma) on Dec 31, 2015 at 12:41pm PST @itsdhyan A post shared by Dhyān Dejan Cirkvenčič (@itsdhyan) on Feb 15, 2016 at 3:34pm PST @kevinclines A post shared by KEV (@kevinclines) on Feb 16, 2016 at 3:06am PST @rene_ssaince A post shared by René (@rene_ssaince) on Apr 13, 2016 at 1:06pm PDT @dewtau A post shared by dewtau (@dewtau) on Jul 2, 2016 at 12:55pm PDT @auntdebris A post shared by Paula Cunha (@auntdebris) on Jul 6, 2016 at 12:48am PDT @auntdebris A post shared by Paula Cunha (@auntdebris) on Jul 12, 2016 at 12:03am PDT @tang_drn A post shared by Tanguy Daran (@tang_drn) on Jul 21, 2016 at 6:41pm PDT @ferbozzoletti A post shared by Ferdinand (@ferbozzoletti) on Aug 18, 2016 at 9:24am PDT @martinezllucas A post shared by Lucas Martinez (@martinezllucas) on Sep 4, 2016 at 8:59am PDT @umarislam A post shared by Umar Islam (@umarislam) on Sep 7, 2016 at 12:20am PDT @tang_drn A post shared by Tanguy Daran (@tang_drn) on Sep 23, 2016 at 4:37pm PDT @jmxma A post shared by Justin Ma (@jmxma) on Oct 13, 2016 at 12:31pm PDT @itsdhyan A post shared by Dhyān Dejan Cirkvenčič (@itsdhyan) on Oct 16, 2016 at 7:42am PDT @itsdhyan A post shared by Dhyān Dejan Cirkvenčič (@itsdhyan) on Dec 14, 2016 at 7:53pm PST @argyriou_ A post shared by Denys Argyriou (@argyriou_) on Jan 3, 2017 at 1:21pm PST @mzeketv A post shared by Martin Sanchez (@mzeketv) on Jan 6, 2017 at 2:36pm PST @a.columbae A post shared by @a.columbae on Jan 7, 2017 at 3:37am PST @helloiamtuan A post shared by Tuan 📍 Nantes (@helloiamtuan) on Jan 8, 2017 at 8:52am PST @4w4ll A post shared by Hi, I'm Milan (@4w4ll) on Jan 15, 2017 at 9:32am PST @humadethis A post shared by Andy Hu (@humadethis) on May 15, 2015 at 4:50pm PDT @panmattia A post shared by drago spaziale (@panmattia) on May 31, 2015 at 12:56am PDT @_him.over.there_ A post shared by @_him.over.there_ on Jul 9, 2015 at 10:01am PDT @freekhymn A post shared by Freek Heyman (@freekhymn) on Aug 1, 2015 at 12:04am PDT @_him.over.there_ A post shared by @_him.over.there_ on Mar 25, 2015 at 9:56am PDT @bboysh1ft A post shared by Evgeniy Galoshin (@bboysh1ft) on Feb 13, 2017 at 2:14pm PST @auntdebris A post shared by Paula Cunha (@auntdebris) on Feb 17, 2017 at 4:35am PST @bokehmonn A post shared by Ross Tejero (@bokehmonn) on Feb 17, 2017 at 3:39pm PST @bboysh1ft A post shared by Evgeniy Galoshin (@bboysh1ft) on Feb 17, 2017 at 2:37pm PST @bboysh1ft A post shared by Evgeniy Galoshin (@bboysh1ft) on Feb 21, 2017 at 9:32am PST @argyriou_ A post shared by Denys Argyriou (@argyriou_) on Feb 23, 2017 at 2:02pm PST @arnvnktr A post shared by Arne Van Kauter (@arnvnktr) on Mar 2, 2017 at 10:23am PST @wiseowlco A post shared by Wise Owl Creative Co. Mobile Photography: Introducing Next-Gen Moment's Cases and Lens

Mobile Photography: Introducing the Next-Gen Moment's Cases and Lens

On Abduzeedo, we do enjoy brands especially independent brands that are the game changers in their areas of expertise, for the main reason to always bring the best to they can accomplish. It is the case for Moment  a brand that we dearly love. They are back with a Kickstarter campaign to introduce their latest novelty for mobile photography by bringing to production: a Battery Photo Case, Photo Case and an all-new Wide Lens. Let’s give it a look. Currently on Kickstarter , Moment is a small company of makers that has one goal and motto. To make the best products in the World for mobile photography. It’s that simple! We believe that the future of photography is in your pocket. The best camera is the one you have with you, and that camera is your phone. At Moment, we want to make your phone work more like a camera. This is our most ambitious project yet. Introducing not one, but three new products.   Battery Photo Case   Photo Case   New Wide Lens Video   Make sure to check out and support their Kickstarter Campaign.

Moment Superfish Lens (Review)

Moment Superfish Lens (Review)

When it comes to Mobile Photography, there’s a brand that shines more than the others and it’s Moment. They have changed the game with their revolutionary thinking at making tools for us to capture, create and make moments on our phones and turned them into a better camera. From the lenses, mounts, cases, accessories and even with the newly Travel Case, Moment never cease to amaze us all with their latest and the greatest. Speaking of that, we are reviewing the latest addition to their lenses family and it’s the Superfish Lens (170 degrees). Coming with the same high standard of quality build, we are looking at a super wide angle lens that can offer you a perspective that you’ll never usually witness. Let’s break it down! My Gear for this review   Apple iPhone 6 Superfish Lens Cork Case Mount for iPhone 6 and now available for iPhone 7/7Plus   First Impressions   The Moment you unbox their gear, it’s always a joy to go through their packaging and how well it’s designed to widely open your creativity with their charming approach. The Superfish Lens is made of a beautiful and high quality material that gives you the firm feeling on owning a lens. It doesn’t have the same curvy finish as the Wide Lens like we previously reviewed but that flat glass on top will give you the widest scene on Mobile Photography. The lens is made to expand the tight interior spaces; especially on action sports, architecture and videos. If you are a débutant to the brand, it’s not a lens I would recommend to start with, I would rather recommend you to start with the Wide Lens or even with the Tele Lens. Again it all comes to what kind of picture you wanna take, so for me it was a fun challenge to wander my city with that creative thinking in mind. ...made of a beautiful and high quality material that gives you the firm feeling on owning a lens With the Case or the Mount?   The Superfish Lens comes to an affordable price of 89.99USD and the choice of whatever we should get the case OR the mount. Having the luxury of trying both, I would say that I would prefer the mount and let me elaborate. First off with the Cork Case which is price at 39.99USD, you are in for the full Moment experience. Everything feels like you are actually having a camera instead of a phone and Moment does a great job and giving you the right tools to do it all. With the combination as I quote: of the DSLR-like Shutter button with half press and the Moment app, it feels great to take pictures and you always have that urge to take even more pictures. The only reason why I prefer the mount instead of the case is how I use my phone every day with family, workouts and etc. I don’t wanna damage my case and that’s pretty much the reason why. ...it feels great to take pictures and you always have that urge to take even more pictures Product Shots   Pros   I would say that I am always preaching the quality of Moment products, it’s well build and if you are serious with your Mobile Photography, they are the brand to go to. You can easily carry the lens with your everyday belongings other than when you think of having a DSLR camera with multiples lenses for example. Made On-the-Go for any situations or moments that needs to be captured. Cons   For me there isn’t any cons in my opinion, some will mention the price. We are talking of a high quality product that is build to last, of course it will come to a price. If you are willing to invest less than 200USD for your Mobile Photography, Moment will give you the best of it all. No Lens (Left) Vs w/ Superfish Lens (Right)   Final Words   Moment is not made for beginners or pros, it’s made for everyone who loves photography. This is what I like about this brand, it’s made for someone who wants to go a bit more further than snapping a picture for the heck of snapping. Moment is made for that person who is willing to wander for that shot and taking the time to edit as well. With a little investment, you’ll get an extension to make and create greatness right into your pocket. Thank you Moment! More Information: https://momentlens.co.
