Conceptual Art & Illustration by Sylvain Sarrailh

Conceptual Art & Illustration by Sylvain Sarrailh

We are looking at the conceptual art & illustration work of Sylvain Sarrailh who is currently based in France. His stylish art always has been a mixture of illustration and also painting. What I like about his art is the non-presence of the main character which is presented as a shadowed silhouette, kind of giving this "Seul Au Monde" atmosphere across. We would definitely suggest you guys check out his ArtStation where you'll see more of his latest work, hope you will enjoy! Behind this art, we are featuring the stunning work from Sylvain Sarrailh who is a freelance concept artist based in Toulouse, France. We have featured his work before on ABDZ. Illustration & Painting: My Giant Watercolor Eden

I've always been fascinated about the amount of time spent on an illustration or a painting, maybe it's because I am not patient enough. On the other hand, let's take a look at the stunning work of Maria Tiurina and her art. She focus her work into digital art and character design as well, we are looking at her most detailed watercolour painting to date, it took months to create from the light pencil to the final result. Across her tremendous skillset, you can notice a change in her art throughout the projects and it's quite amazing! Crafting her art at its finest, you should check out her store at over Society6. Let's take a pause and look at this illustration series by Oleg Belinsky named Futurism vs. Passeism. You'll notice the mixture of that black solid colour, geometrics, lighting and gradients are just a combination of a stunning stylish art. I really love the tone and the details given to the white colour, just add an incredible final touch. I wish there was more of this series but time will let us know and I can't wait to see more of Oleg's work in the near future. Hope you dig it as well! The Art of Kevin Peterson

The Art of Kevin Peterson

Kids, wolves, bears and birds are all part of the sublime art of Kevin Peterson, through the power message/icon of using kids as it's masterpiece is absolutely powerful in my opinion. The image we usually get from children are always related to joy and innocence but surrounded by animals is a totally imaginative approach. With an urban environment, we explore Kevin's pure creativity and craft. Hope you will enjoy! My work is about the varied journeys we take through life. It’s about growing up and living in a world that is broken. These paintings are about trauma, fear and loneliness and the strength that it takes to survive and thrive. They each contain the contrast of the untainted, young and innocent against a backdrop of a worn, ragged, and defiled world. Support versus restraint, bondage versus freedom, and tension versus slack are all themes that I often visit. My work deals with isolation, loneliness and longing teamed with a level of optimistic hope. Issues of race and the division of wealth have arisen in my recent work. This work deals with the idea of rigid boundaries, the hopeful breakdown of such restrictions, as well as questions about the forces that orchestrate our behavior. About Kevin Peterson Kevin is an artist currently located in Sherman, Texas where he actually works at Winter Street Studios. Through his many exhibitions, Kevin always keep himself pretty up-to-date on Instagram, check him out. More information: http://kevinpetersonstudios.com.

Swatch POP

Swatch POP

Our good friend Rik Oostenbroek has been doing incredible for many many years and he never ceased to upscale his work, change the pace and explore new mediums. These are the right recipes from your personal work to attract possible clients sometimes big brands to work with, well it is the case with Rik. Swatch approached Rik for his experimental & personal FRGMNTS series. We are taking a closer look at his recent work for Swatch where he had to create two pieces and one in front of a live audience in a POP-up Gallery. Swatch invited to create unique artworks based on their new POP line. All pieces had to include at least one of the new watches and I had to do one piece live in their POP-up gallery in Amsterdam. That's why I decided to go for a paint approach, not only because it fits the artistic values for the brand itself, but also because it would be interesting to show a process like that in real-life.     About Rik Oostenbroek Other than being a professional Karaoke Singer, Rik is a self-taught designer and art director based in Hilversum, Netherlands. For the past years, Rik has worked with brands like Swatch, Nike, Mazda, ESPN and more. Make sure to follow his Instagram to follow his daily work. For more information: http://rikoostenbroek.com.

Abstract ABC

Abstract ABC

Being abstract is somehow part of each one of us, whatever you're an artist, designer, developer or even a QA tester. Some of us will design something, take photos, practice lettering or like Jim LePage will paint. We are featuring Jim's and Max's work with their Abstract ABC series. Abstract painting provides a creative escape for me. I love the exploration of color and texture and how the mix of those can evoke different types of feelings and ideas. Moody Illustrations by Elicia Edijanto

Moody Illustrations by Elicia Edijanto

Since starting Abduzeedo I've come across an infinite number of inspiring illustrations varying in style. Colorful, 80s, 90s, 3D, you name it and we've probably published it and continue to find inspiration from incredible artists around the globe. To date, I have to say that the work that Elicia Edijanto shared on his Behance profile really deserves to be at the top of my list. It reminds me of the game Limbo because of the mood and aesthetics, however Elicia's work has far more texture and personality. One of the things that make the work shine in my opinion is the mix of techniques, drawing and painting with just some brush splatters. Add to that, an interesting combination of subjects, like the friendship of a boy and a bear or other animals and you have a beautiful and moody set of illustrations. For more information make sure to check out Elicia's page at https://www.behance.net/eliciaedijanto

The Realistic Art of Mike Dargas

The Realistic Art of Mike Dargas

Mike Dargas is an artist currently living in Cologne, Germany. As a child, Mike already surpassed an interest for painting and uses oil colour in his early works. Coming from an inspiration of Dali, Caravaggio and HR Giga, Mike's art is a representation of surrealism and realism in a precise form of a photograph. The result is quite astonishing and so real. In his portraits, Mike is not limited on certain types. He portrays young and old, beautiful and dark, fragile and strong people. They are lost in thoughts, show inner conflicts or transmit a unique or even holy calmness. The perfection of his technique seems to seek for the perfect image, like he was searching for the soul within each single one. With his works Mike Dargas challenges us to take a deeper look, to understand the nature of human being and to question our own emotional perception. Watercolor Illustrations

Watercolor Illustrations

It's been such a long time since the last post about watercolor illustrations. I am a huge fan of this style and technique going so far as trying to recreate this type of illustration in Photoshop, but nothing beats the real deal, at least till now. It looks like the iPad Pro might have the tech to accomplish that digitally, so let's wait and see, but meanwhile check out the amazing work of Amandine Comte. The waves and the ocean by Carlos Carpinelli's hands

The waves and the ocean by Carlos Carpinelli's hands

I'm sure you know a great artist near your home, or in your hometown, or a friend of a friend that make art as no one else. When I found this kind of artist I think "the world should know this guy!". And that is the case of Carlos Carpinelli, an artist from my city in Brazil. His painting are absolutely astonishing and it deserve all your attention. The art is focused on waves and the ocean, the small details make all the difference and bring realism to the painting. I think how hard must be to work with those small pencils and try to imagine how much time to make a single piece like these. Check out the pictures and don't forget to know more about his work on the links at the end! The addiction for surf made me change my life, even at 13 years I had two passions: surfing and art, competing in local tournaments and drawing for surf brands, kept me connected to this lifestyle forever and through him I got to know some of the most perfect waves in the world. About Carlos Carpinelli Check more about his art on Instagram, Facebook and carpinelli-art.com. The result of all this inspiration can be seen in my paintings, whose main theme the perfect waves and beautiful places where I have or just imagined, using acrylic paint matt water based on screen, only with brushes and unused airbrush.

Squarespace - Build it Beautiful

Squarespace - Build it Beautiful

Mixing analog with digital always works. Despite the advances in technology and the tools that help us to recreate and emulate diverse effects, there's nothing like using the materials to get the assets and textures you need. The branding project created for Squarespace New York by Pawel Nolbert and Karol Kolodzinski is a great example with a beautiful outcome. We're really digging the mixing of paint splatters to recreate the Squarespace logo and different assets for their brand. The project consisted of two main parts: two static hi-res key art images, one logo-based and one abstract, operating within the same visual language, and an animation/bumper that featured the Squarespace logo. Legend of the Yokai - Michelangelo

Legend of the Yokai - Michelangelo

German illustrator Levent Aydin was commissioned by Paramount Pictures to create an artwork for the campaign "Legends of Yokai" and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The result is simply incredible, from pencil drawing to digital painting! For more from Levent Aydin visit leventaydin.com. I created an artwork for the campaign 'Legend of the Yokai' and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The Legend of the Yokai explores the origin of the Kappa Yokai, mythical creatures summoned by the spirits of honour, wisdom, courage and brotherhood. Each character of the TMNT represents one of these spirits. I chose Michelangelo who represents 'brotherhood'. Instead of a typical fighting pose which shows his willingness for a battle, I picked a cool pose showing that he is always prepared for a fight to defend his brothers.
