Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine, Sancho, and he told me about a great artist called Zach Johnsen. Zach makes some really insane illustrations... heads exploding into a burst of colors, and all kinds of imaginative characters.

I love the work here and all of the stuff at Zach's portfolio site. I find myself most drawn to the snake with skull spottings, which, if you dig into his portfolio a little more, is a recurring theme in his work. Really great stuff.

I've seen this illustrator a few times recently while stumbling around the web. I absolutely love this style. Especially the wood cut characters on his portfolio that were arranged in real world. More like this please!

Very dynamic. The sense of motion and the sense of "Whoa!" are simply fantastic. These illustrations appeal not just to your visual senses, but your aural ones ones. Very memorable!
