NOIR, depthCORE Chapter XXXV

September 29, 2008 from abduzeedo's blog

Today the depthCORE.com Collective released a new exhibition, their 35th, precisely, and it's entitled "NOIR". The coolest thing in the NOIR chapter is that it's entirely in black & whithe and with, as usual, fantastic pieces. It's definitely worth checking it out. For more info visit http://depthCORE.com

Today, the depthCORE.com Collective are delighted to release our 35th exhibition, an entirely black & white body of work entitled 'NOIR'.

Consisting of over one hundred songs, photographs, illustrations and animations, 'NOIR' is a deep and immersive experience that is the result of an enthusiastic and considered response to an evocative theme from new and old artists alike. The months behind the scene spent creating the work that comprises this Chapter were some of the most artistically charged in our six year history; it is no stretch to say that this was an immensely enjoyable release to create.

We consider this Chapter to be one of our better efforts, and (as always) hope you enjoy viewing it as much as we did producing it.

Create an Angry Birds Parody in Illustrator
Create an Angry Birds Parody in Illustrator
Most video games that I've played lately have not been as charming as Angry Birds. Why? Because nowadays most games focus too much on realistic graphics and improved AI. They just forget the basics of fun games like Super Mario World. If you have not played this game yet you shoudn't miss the opportunity; it's really addicting. Ok, enough talking about it, so inspired by a session of Angry Birds I decided to make this cool parody and teach it to you guys. Hope you dig it as much as I did.

Book Suggestion: Why We Buy - The Science of Shopping
The book of this week is not a design book per se but it's an incredible book. I have just finished it and I got so much valuable information that can be applied in my day to day job as designer. The book is called Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping--Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond by Paco Underhill.
