The Perfect Office #142
- Jun 04, 2012
We've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have?
Not only gadgets and equipment, but also furniture, sound system, gaming stuff (for lunch time!). A designer is totally allowed to dream with the perfect office, and that's what we're gonna do here! Also, tell us your suggestions, or even better, you may tell us via twitter, using #abdz_ofc so we can check it. Alright? I hope you guys enjoy this brief selection. Cheers! ;)
Floppy Disk Drink Coasters
We have a soft spot for old technology, whether it's computers, phones, or music players. Our parents warned us that this would happen, so it appears once again they were right. We're staying on the bleeding edge of technology as long as we can, but we'll wax nostalgic about cassette tapes and floppy disks so today's teenagers can roll their eyes and call us old fogies.
This set of coasters is designed to look just like the floppy disks you know and love. Even the back side is "anatomically correct," as it were. Use a Sharpie to personalize the labels for specific members of your crew if you want! These four coasters come in the three primary colors and classic black. (at Think Geek)
4GB USB Bottle Opener
Someone actually invited you to a party, but you’re not sure what to do to go from being an invisible geek to the life of the party? Break the ice with the USB Bottle Opener! Don’t forget to open a few bottles as well. The snazzy design combines two great things in life, technology and fun. (at 7 Fadgets)

Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabooks with touchscreens and Windows 8
The wave of touchscreen-loving Windows 8 notebooks has begun at Computex with Acer‘s own Aspire S7 Ultrabook series. Here we’ve got both a 13.3-inch model and an 11.6-inch model with full 180-degree fold-back screens for your touch-loving pleasure! These models both take the Acer Aspire S3 and bump up the specifications as well as the build, bringing 12.5mm-thick unibody aluminum along for the ride.
The 13-inch Aspire S7 has a glass lid, both versions of this Ultrabook have fully backlit keyboards, and both have full HD displays. The actual specifications these notebooks will have has not yet been revealed by Acer, but we can expect press releases sooner than later. For now we can expect what’s certainly going to be 3rd Generation Intel Core (Ivy Bridge) processors in both i5 and i7 configurations, ultra-thin profiles on the whole units, and lovely minimalistic design all around.
