Photoshop Quick Tips #5 - Typographic Portrait

March 31, 2009

Following our series of Quick Tips, we have a nice video showing how to create a Typographic Portrait using Photoshop. There are other ways, one in particular is really cool too, it's using Flash. You can check it out at http://evan-roth.com/typo_illus.html

Also, a long time ago Computerarts magazine published a tutorial from the creators of of ni9e.com where they offer an in-depth look at their experiments in digital type showing how to create this type of effect as well, they used Flash and you can download the tutorial in PDF here.

Typographic Portrait - Quick tip from ikab on Vimeo.

Another very nice tutorial is the How to Create a Simple Face Text Portrait in Photoshop from Ronald over at Naldz Graphics. It's definitely worth checking it out.

Interesting tip (basically an exercise of 'type on a path') although I'm not quite such as to the practicality of it.

Very nice... but i have a question (a newbie question.. ;) )
When u use the ''word brush'' you created (in the 2° video) how do you rotate it? I don't really know how, because it change inclination randomly...

typography is not an easy work.
needs a hell lot of time.
