Sci-Fi Retro Drawings by HBT

February 15, 2010 from amanda's blog

Hollis Brown Thornton's work is hard to describe in one word. It's like a combination of tech/sci-fi/retro all in one, which actually describes Abduzeedo perfectly as well. He has a lot of permanent marker work (which I love!) but he also does a lot of pigment transfers on canvas too. He included a step-by-step guide on transfers for anybody who's interested here. Definitely worth checking out and trying out some experiments of your own.

Swing by his site for more good stuff and let me know what you think via twitter.

Create a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Parody on Illustrator
Hi guys, as often I do , today I am going to demonstrate another of my parodies around some famous cartoon character. As we were into a nostalgic vibe lately, I thought that the TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) would be something fun to do. And so I decided to make a baby version of it, with a baby Donatello and a grandpa Master Splinter, not on a high detailed type of illustration, but on a more cartoonish way.

Book Suggestion: Timeline of Graphic Design in Brazil
As the name implies, this book (but I dare call a Bible) tells the story of graphic design in Brazil in a very intelligent way and brings a wealth of incredible images and with a touch of nostalgia for most Brazilians.
