Starbucks Style, Design and Products
March 13, 2009
Today I was really thinking on a Starbucks coffee. As I don't have this option here at my hometown Porto Alegre and I really admire the whole style of this brand I decided to get material from them to show here.
I did some research and read more about their concept of designing and their team work. Actually Starbucks has two groups of designers as follow: - the global creative team that handles advertising and marketing material, products presentation and packaging; - the store design group witch is responsible for the furniture, fittings and layout of the stores.
At the creative group they have graphic designers together with technical and packaging specialists. Some of the team also bring fine art and illustration skills to the mix so that is probably why they have such a good range of products. Check it out.

Ugh, i love Starbucks.
I love Starbucks' design. I used to work at an agency who handled a LOT of Starbucks work - we did most of the coffee tumblers at the time - this was around 97-99... In fact, I think we might have done that tin that looks like a delivery truck. Anyhow, I've always loved their work - thanks for showing the diversity of it, and yet somehow, it all reinfornces the brand and says "Starbucks" without confusing the brand. Brilliant.
Like Tina Fey said on a recent episode of 30 Rock, "I want to go there..."
I hate starbucks! the coffee sucks... everything is so overpriced, its ridiculous.
