Streetart Inspiration Part 1: Banksy
May 15, 2008
Banksy is an awesome street-artists from Bristol* (England) and probably the most loved/hated. Im in love with his artworks since i bought his book "wall and piece". Check out the great stencil art he does all over the world.
* Thanks to Abduzeedo-user "Simon" for recognizing the mistake.
CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) are the surveillance systems that often are seen in London. And now recognize that Banksy painted this pictures right next to one of these cameras.
Check out his portfolio http://banksy.co.uk/

I love Banksy and his streetwork, absolutely great!
Got the 2nd to last one, hanging on my wall right next to me :)
Wow , and the indoor works are also great! Great creativity and a lot of feelings in his works.
Wow, what a fantasy ;O!
absolutely amazing! so glad to see one of my favorite reads doing a piece on banksy.
the guy is fantastic and his art seems to speak to so many, with so little.
a+ post, thank you!
I don't mean to be picky but Banksy is actually from Bristol in the South West of England. There's alot of his work around Bristol, and his name used to be the first thing you used to see when driving into Bristol via the Motorway (the M32).
Actually I think I heard he was from Yate, which is essentially a suburb a few miles outside of Bristol, as that's where his first work is found. I'd recommend picking up the book "Banksy's Bristol" which showcases some of his work in the area.
Either way, I think some of the stencil work he does is fantastic, I'm a huge fan.
this is cool
its really great! :P
wow I love that freak!
Banksy is my most favorite stencil graffiti artist, his works are truely awesome and the visuals are with strong and sarcastic message. Great sense of humor and great sense of space manipulation too.
I have to try to do something like this in my country!
Great inspiration!
I'd highly recommend getting a copy of Banksy's book, Wall and Piece.

Nice Banksy article. I run a street art site myself, and my first article was on Banksy... http://alanbernard.com/mayhem/art/banksy/
I've also done interviews with other artists and so forth, like Jon Burgerman, Logan Hicks and Meggs. Do drop by and check it out, if you have the time mate. :)
