Stunning Sketches by Irina Vinnik

December 08, 2010 from PauloGabriel's blog

I just can't get enough of sketches. I got my own sketchbooks but I don't get to fill them as much as I wanted, but I sure love to see people who take their sketchbooks seriously and make delicious art in it. An example of these awesome people is Irina Vinnik.

I really like her style because is the exact kind of thing that I would do (not as good as her, obviously). These are very detailed and it's really worth taking a look at her work. There's more of these at her portfolio, so don't forget to visit her at Behance. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Cheers! ;)

Easy Star Light in Photoshop
Easy Star Light in Photoshop
I've been writing tutorials inspired by skateboard deck designs for a few weeks and today it's not going to be different. I'm very addicted to that, I love the ideas some of the designers have and for this tutorial I will recreate a really nice effect with lines forming a star. However I will go a little bit further and I will transform it in a light effect and add a nice pattern overlay. Everything using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Book Suggestion - Poke the Box
The book of this week is Poke the Box. Written by Seth Godin, Poke the Box is very inspiring and motivating about initiating and shipping. It makes you think about so many things and makes you want to make things happen. If you're stuck at the starting line, you don't need more time or permission. You don’t need to wait for a boss’s okay or to be told to push the button; you just need to poke.
