Stylish Clouds in Photoshop

January 01, 2008

Back from the New Year’s eve, I bit of hangover, I’d like to wish you all an excellent 2008. And celebrating the new year I created this new image that I will write a tutorial showing how to create clouds in Photoshop.

They are not simply clouds, they are more a cartoon clouds, very colorful and stylish. The same I saw on another fantastic Nik Ainley’s work he did to Adobe and it’s on his website.

You can get the wallpapers below.

The blur helps to hide the circles, but anyway, I'm not sure it looks like clouds.

The tuturial is fine, but one should use this like clouds just in a "world made of perfect shapes".

I believe it's nice like "concept art" or maybe for a videogame scenario.

one way to make them is to create round circles fill em with a color and then use gradient with a daker color to make them look round. And then add a bit of glow on top of each "orb". Put em in groups in different shapes to make em look like a cloud.

Awesome as usual.

Please make a tutorial. I'd pay for it. I really want to be able to make this type of dreamy-looking clouds and I have not found any tutorial anywhere that teaches that.

It's already the 5th but yeah, Happy 2008!
