Super Cool Star Wars Illustrations

October 08, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

We often get to see some cool Star Wars references. Memorabilia, parody videos, and many many other things... we even had a full article about the Star Wars Culture one year ago. One way that people often find to celebrate these fantastic movies, is by illustrating it!

Whether commissioned or not, there are some fantastic illustrations on the matter, and I just had to share a few with you. From Adam Hughes to new artists, these are some great images that really illustrate the Star Wars universe, really cool! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy my selection... and may the force be with you. ;p

Awesome digital bokeh effect in Photoshop
Awesome digital bokeh effect in Photoshop
Our last Wallpaper of the Week was an image I had created using Pixelmator, and I really liked the outcome. The best part about it was that it was pretty easy to accomplish in Pixelmator, but I decided for perspective's sake to create the same effect in Photoshop. The process is easy as well, but with a few extra steps. As in the previous tutorial, I will show you how to create a digital bokeh effect, but this time in Photoshop. The process is very easy and we will be using the super powerful Brush Engine, one of the coolest things in Photoshop.

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
