Super Cute Star Wars Characters by Xander

November 17, 2009 from MateToth's blog

I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, that's why I became so excited, when I found this guy on DeviantArt. His nick is Xander, and he is a multi talent. First I ran into one of his custom paper toys, but when I had a closer look at his gallery, I dropped my jaw. He designed tons of lovely Star Wars characters with excellent style. In this post You can find most of them, but visit his DA page for the rest.

I'm an artist/animator/character designer from New Zealand! In my spare time I paint and make plush toys with my wife Karla. I run an animation studio called Mukpuddy Animation with 3 of my buddies and we make things that make me laugh!! We're currently in production of our cartoon Sparkle Friends!!

This tutorial is a remake from a Photoshop tutorial, that can be found at http://abduzeedo.com/how-create-radical-photo-sequence. It was written by Paulo Canabarro. This tutorial is intended for people that have a general idea of layer masks, as layer masks are a big part of this tutorial. Some things you will need before we get started: A few pictures, that were shot in the “burst” mode of your camera. (See step 1 for more info about this)

For this wallpaper of the week we have the design from the Super Cool Abstract Vectors in Illustrator and Photoshop tutorial. We chose the dark version because, as you might have noticed, we sort of love dark wallpapers. However if you want the other version you can download the 1920x1200 pixels version at http://flickr.com/photos/azeected/3001691313/

Book Suggestion: Timeline of Graphic Design in Brazil
As the name implies, this book (but I dare call a Bible) tells the story of graphic design in Brazil in a very intelligent way and brings a wealth of incredible images and with a touch of nostalgia for most Brazilians.
