What I particularly like about LYNK & CO philosophy, approach and business model are the fact that is more than just a car. There’s a definitive mindset behind this brand to be wide open as an open source to creation and collaboration. Some of us might think that CO from LYNK & CO would mean company but it actually means Co:operation, Co:mmunity and Co:nnection. We gotta that play of words! That being said, the car itself would have connectivity features like: Shareable Locks (meaning there will be no key), Start your car from your phone and all to be intended into what they called: Share Mode. We all know the importance of sketching during any design process, however depending on the field we work we tend to skip the sketching part and go straight to more detailed mocks. That's one of the reasons I love to see car design projects. The sketching and ideation during this part of the process is never forgotten. Ford has chosen the Mustang, their most iconic car, to illustrate the evolution of colors in vehicles over the past 50 years. The goal was to show how colors follow fashion trends, behaviors and tastes of the customers from time to time. A historic study done by Ford shows that in the past 5 decades the color of cars varied from shades of brown and soft yellows to more audacious tones that helped to differentiate one of the world's most popular sports car. Color Palette The Mustang's color palette shows the preference of each decade. Today, black is the chosen color for those who own a Mustang representing 28% of the orders, a 10% increase from the last decade. In comparison, that number was 1.5% in the years between 1967 and 1973. Naturally, red has always been a popular color for sport cars and represents 21% of all Mustangs sold to date. In 1967, less than 10% of the line was in red. In the last decade it grew to 22%. Blue dominated the first years of the Mustang, reaching 30% of all Mustangs in 1968 when it was offered in 6 different tones. In the past years the blue is back in different shades that helped this color to reach 23% of the sales. Silver is another color that has been preferred by customers. About the Mustang The Ford Mustang is an automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car. Introduced on April 17, 1964, and thus dubbed as a "1964½" model by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A. Concept Cars always have been a fascinating subject for us to get inspired for the future. What will be the next coming? Today, I am showcasing this concept car by Hussain Almossawi and Marin Myftiu from Skyrill.com, I hope you guys will enjoyed it! The XKX Jaguar is a new generation electric roadster, aimed at pushing both performance and power efficiency to a new level. This concept tries to revive the glorious design lines of the brand, combining fresh solutions, a unique, new aerodynamics, tailored around the electrical elements of the power system as well as cutting-edge energy feedback. Inspired by the e-type from 50 years ago Sketches One of the main challenges during the concept drafting was avoiding the heaviness associated with many of today’s muscle cars, including actual Jaguar models. Like with the models of the golden era, we wanted to recreate a thin, elegant profile, but still showing off all the extra power and technological improvements. The solution was dividing the volume into two separate perceptive entities: one that “floated over” and transmitted the characteristic veil-like feeling, and another, below this layer, that spoke of all the power and adrenaline this car was capable of, which was translated into ample front and rear openings at the sides. The morphology of the lower part was the most important and is obviously the most distinctive compared to current roadsters; the delicate equilibrium of the large curves of the air intakes had at the same time to transmit aggressiveness, but still appearing light and ephemeral, giving the adequate perceptive lightness to the upper curves. This, is partly due to an intricate array of reasons, but in large part it’s also the very nature of those stylish cars of the ‘70s; the minimalistic, flowing lines of the E-Type, are maybe the very perfection of an automobile, almost entirely deprived of all the subtleties and excessive detail, they have very little to be improved. Just like the sculptural representations of Konstantin Brancusi, the E-Type represents somehow the very essence of an automobile, with almost total smoothness, the perfect balance of muscle and elegance, all embodied in a dreamlike shell that seems to stay afloat, hovering on some dense, invisible fluid which also shaped it’s very being. Given the circumstances, is somehow a paradox to try to follow an evolutionary path that leads to something “better” than these masterpieces. However, a new, in depth study of some glorious Jaguar models, was in our view a chance to find that path again, looking for distinctive DNA traits of the model through the years. And applying current styling trends and standards, especially in the view of new body-forming techniques and new technologies, we started to envision the very successor of the E-Type and XK8 Jags, applying similar, stylish curves that run harmoniously from nose to tail, some of them uninterruptedly.

The Astrum Meera is a proposed concept car possessing several distinctive features that play a unique role in safety, sustainability, and practical design. The wheel rims work through magnetic levitation, like train wheels, making the car lighter and faster. The side mirrors are hidden when parked and roll out of the body once the engine starts. During the constant transitions it can be easy to overlook some important values in the search for honest design. Beauty is a diverse subject which can be applied in different ways such as aesthetics or mathematics, however it also holds intrinsic value for future generations. The Axiom project is a branding exercise designed to introduce 'beauty' to the implications of Audi's tradition. The key is to find a way in which the two can be used together to promote the beauty of today's world. In addition to this, Axiom is a study into balancing proportion, surface tension and aesthetic emotion for the Audi brand. The Audi Axiom project is designed to express beauty, if any, that exist with the brand. As beauty is a broad subject, and also one that does not directly comply with the Audi brand, only a select few areas could have been explored. The first is Audi tradition, the brand's history is full of success and progress through technology has been the driving force. The spirit of our society in today's world is full of uncertainty and chaos, and progress is always a continuous hope for everyone. Axiom is an attempt to reflect this feeling and promote beauty as a place of refuge from the confusion of the world. The second area where Audi could explore beauty, is the relation we have with time. Jaguar 2040 What is Luxury in 2040? In an intelligent and self-developed age, society will bring luxury to a new status. Indulgence in the harmony of a tailored experience designed to match individual ideologies. Luxury is having the opportunity to fulfill life. What is it? The Jaguar L-type is designed to be a Luxury vehicle for a modern era, it is designed to be a cruiser for the modern city inhabitant. The objective for the L-type is to become a piece of sculpture when not in use, and it can do this by parking on special hub's installed around the city, which are positioned upright to drastically alter the vehicle's appearance. When parked on the hubs, it's secondary use is to gather solar electricity, like a blossomed flower reaching above the shade of undergrowth. The vehicle is continuously connected to the national grid, where it draws power via the front wheels, which in turn powers electro magnetic thrust, which react with specially adapted roads. Scenario 2040 Society -Overpopulation requires fully sustainable cities to be developed local to existing cities. -After seeing the effects of global warming, world governments prioritise the environment and integrate society with nature. Technology -Nano revolution has dawned and nuclear fusion is still not ready for mainstream use. Maximising renewable energy is important. Opened in 2008 the I-Way is a building dedicated to car and racing lovers. It is a place where the public can do simulations in race cars as Endurance, Raly and even Formula 1. The design of this sensational construction, located in Lyon - France, is from Cyrille Druart architects. Made of concrete slabs, it provides an internal environment focused on the simulators, the cars are camouflaged with the colors of the building and seem to be part of the building. I can't imagine the feeling of sitting in those cars, but I'm sure that it must be awesome. Besides this main attraction, the complex I-Way also offers fitness rooms, bar (alcohol-free), restaurant, conference rooms and offices.
