First of all, we would like to wish Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that does celebrate today and will do for the next few days. Through all the eating sessions and resting between, we would like to share this stunning short film on Abduzeedo. The movie is called: Planet Unknown and it’s the story of a journey with as they called: Space Rovers were sent out to find potentially habitable planets. We just can’t deny that we love the approach of this film and how it just remind us of the movie Wall-E. Hope you will enjoy! Watch Now The idea started back in 2014 when Interstellar was released. I was deeply impressed by the movie and was inspired by the two robots TARS and CASE. The idea of intellectual robots exploring space developed from there. Other inspirations include Pixar movies like WALL-E and Toy Story, as well as CHAPPiE, NASA documentaries about Mars Rover Curiosity, and short films by individuals like Alex Roman’s The Third & The Seventh, Richard Mans’ Abiogenesis, Erik Wernquist’s Wanderers, Alf Lovvold’s Dawn of the Stuff, and so many more. One of the games I have been playing a lot lately is the new Batman game, the Arkham Knight. Batman is my favorite character and the main reason it's because he's a regular guy, he doesn't have special powers, just brains and of course money. So for this post I had to share the beautiful character design that Riyahd Cassiem shared on his Behance page. For more information about Riyahd check out his page at http://riyahdart.blogspot.com/
Character design is a field that I don't know much about and definitely lack talent but that doesn't mean that I don't like it. On the contrary, I love seeing the work that talented designers and artists put together. From Pixar movies to simple illustrations, what really catches my attention is the expression that these talented people are able to add to their characters, it's almost as if they were alive. For this post we share a really cool project by Oscar Ramos, an illustrator and character designer from Santiago, Chile. The project is titled Opel - "Because you never travel alone". It's always great to see designers rockin' some super badasses characters. Imagination has no boundaries and we get to see infinite designs, thankfully! Today we're checking the characters imagined by German designer Joern Zimmermann. He's been doing some super awesome, slick pieces, from mecha warriors and battle suits to aliens. These are pretty amazing, but are only a handful! For more of his artworks, please visit his portfolio at ArtStation. He'll most definitely enjoy your attention! I hope you like these as much as I did! Cheers! ;)
Vivien Bertin, an illustrator from Paris, France shared some beautiful character design work on his Behance page. If there's an area that I really admire yet completely lack skill is character design however I love seeing the process from conception, sketches to the final outcome. The work that Vivien shared is amazing especially in the colors and details not to mention, it's a personal project and we here at Abduzeedo have a special place in our hearts for personal projects. For more information about Vivien, check out his web site at http://www.vivienbertin.com/
Advertising is all about communication but to achieve that much work is required from a copious array of fields, from basic communication to design, illustration to 3D, and many others. The photo manipulation is the element that always attracted me, especially in terms of giving life to objects and characters that are not real. That's the case of the work that Estudio Icone created for CCCA Kids to help Brazilians learn english. Simple, illustrative, smart and of course top notch in the details and polish. Icone is a studio formed by creative minds: multidisciplinary professionals that carry art in their DNA. Essentially, our job is to produce images. But we want more than that. We seek spontaneous creativity which has no formulas and arises from the talent of each artist, from their visual culture and plurality of backgrounds. Here, each image can present a different solution. But the common goal is to achieve the result that our clients expect. That’s why we’ve completed eight years of partnerships with great brands and advertising agencies by building challenging images with the highest level of technique and refinement. It's great to see artists doing great pieces of art. It might be a fan art to famous characters or shows or even new, fresh characters out of their minds, but what really matters is that we get to see their talent in these fantastic pieces. Here you can see the work of American artist Alessandro Baldasseroni. He's got a sweet style, so for more of it, please visit his portfolio at ArtStation! I hope you enjoy these! Cheers. ;)

I really enjoy seeing badass sculptures... but it's totally rad when an artist comes up with clay looking 3D sculptures like these by Brazilian artist Guzz Soares. These are so detailed that they actually got fingerprint marks on them, which is mindblowing! Kudos to the artist for such attention to detail! These are only a handful of Guzz's artworks. For more of his pieces, please visit his portfolio at Artstation. He'll definitely like it! Enjoy. Cheers! ;) Little Girl Hermione Granger Chun-Li Jack Sparrow Michael Jackson Lazy Day Goku (Kakaroto) Mario (Mario Bros.) Some artists really have a an awesome talent for creating characters. How many of you have seen a World War Centaur? Or maybe a Cheetah in a Velociraptor body (or would it be a Velociraptor with a Cheetah head?) Anyways, here is the fantastic work of Jake Parker. Here you can see some pretty awesome character designs by him, but also, his take on famous pieces are also really nice! Although this is only a handful of his pieces, you may see more of it by visiting his portfolio at DeviantART. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did! Cheers. ;)
The internet has given us access to so many things and with that, tools to ease the ability to share. For me, the most fascinating of all is that we can see various types of artworks and styles. A great example is the project Box on Wheels by Scott Schenone, the idea is to create a car model from a box model. The result is super stylish, full of personality and somewhat resembles one of the Pixar models for the movie Cars. A Defender 90 design that fits inside a perfect square. Via Behance
Back in 2010 we featured for the first time the awesome work of Austrian artist Teodoru Badiu. I thought it was time to update you guys on what he's been up to! He's been doing some fantastic 3D pieces like these! These are only a few of his pieces. For more of it, please visit his Behance portfolio! He'll definitely enjoy it. Also, tell us which of his latest pieces you like the most! Cheers! ;)
Character design and simple animations together are a powerful way to create engaging and delightful experiences for the viewer. A great example is the work that Mother Volcano and AIM | Animation for Mixedmedia put together for a commissioned work to Sony. The vector style and quirky animations are not only beautiful but carry so much personality. They definitely deserve to be shared here on Abduzeedo. For more information visit the Behance page of this project at: http://www.behance.net/gallery/Sony-Xperia-Z-Ultra-The-Big-Show/12932977 Commissioned by the Paris based agency Uzful, Mother Volcano created these 9 allegoric characters that have been brought to life by AIM in this fun and informative campaign for Sony Mobile introducing the new Xperia™ Z Ultra We would love to hear your opinion, share with us via comments, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or even email.
I really enjoy a well designed toy. Some action figures are so cool that anyone would proudly display them in the shelf, like these bad boys below... a fantastic set of toys designed by South Korean artist Coolrain Lee. Look at these! They're so slick! You should totally check his Behance portfolio for more of these! He'll definitely enjoy your visit. I hope you like it. Cheers! ;)
