Potholes is a series of photographs demonstrating the concave street cracks and holes of known cities through the creative cleverness of Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficca. As a Montrealer, I must admit that potholes are part of our Spring Celebration but we wouldn’t have the particularity of seeing potholes with such an exceptional flair like Davide and Claudia did. So imaginative! ...captured within the backdrops of New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto and Montreal, the sets explore the urban flaws as a playground creating a multitude of uses out of the potholes. Directly engaging the street and the city, the highly imaginative series transforms the bad into good, creating a tongue-in-cheek collection that is at once contextual and surreal. The book suggestion of this week is titled Steal Like an Artist: 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative by Austin Kleon and it's a New York Times bestseller about tips on being creative. As the author says, it's all about being yourself. You don’t need to be a genius, you just need to be yourself. That’s the message from Austin Kleon, a young writer and artist who knows that creativity is everywhere, creativity is for everyone. A manifesto for the digital age, Steal Like an Artist is a guide whose positive message, graphic look and illustrations, exercises, and examples will put readers directly in touch with their artistic side. When Mr. Kleon was asked to address college students in upstate New York, he shaped his speech around the ten things he wished someone had told him when he was starting out. The talk went viral, and its author dug deeper into his own ideas to create Steal Like an Artist, the book. The result is inspiring, hip, original, practical, and entertaining. And filled with new truths about creativity: Nothing is original, so embrace influence, col- lect ideas, and remix and re-imagine to discover your own path. Follow your interests wherever they take you. Stay smart, stay out of debt, and risk being boring—the creative you will need to make room to be wild and daring in your imagination. Buy Now

I've been seeing these in the web for some time now. David Jablow has come up with a super simple, yet awesome project called "Do it yourself Doodler", in which he takes an original, incomplete doodle and starts to make many doodles from it. These are a great example of how a person might practice their drawing skills. Do it yourself too! I bet that doing something like David will get your creativity right on date. To get to know more of his project, you may visit the project site, or check out his flickrstream for more of his great doodles! I hope you enjoy these. Chees! ;) Blank His art
As a creative person there are plenty possibilities to train and express your creativity. But not only online. People who used to draw a lot often find other objects to paint on that just paper, like walls, trees, doors and eggs as in this article
I'm sure you've come across Fred & Friend products before at your local indie store and might not have even known it. Last weekend I was cruising around town and stopped at an indie store only to find one whole corner of the place dedicated to Fred & Friend products. It was heavenly. I stood there for probably more than a half hour laughing and checking out all their cool stuff. A lot of creativity goes into the making of these products, and I think part of that cleverness is shown in the name of the product and the slogan. It's really a hoot flipping through their catalog and I often find myself posing the question: "How in heavens name did they think of that?". Check out this collection I compiled for you guys today and you'll probably find yourself asking the same question. Which one's your favorite? Tell us in the comments below! And you can also drop me a line on twitter or facebook! I'd love to hear from you! Enjoy :) Disclaimer: the images you're about to view may not be suitable for all audiences. Im so excited. I had a car accident this weekend but it didn't matter when I saw the new features of Photoshop or After Effects CS4. It has awesome new features like the "Content-Aware Scaling" or the "3D painting and compositing" in Photoshop Contains: InDesign CS4, Photoshop Extended CS4, Illustrator CS4, Flash CS4 Professional, Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4, Acrobat 9 Pro, Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Device Central CS4, Version Cue CS4 Preorder-price: 1,799 $ Contains: Dreamweaver CS4, Flash CS4 Professional, Photoshop CS4 Extended, Illustrator CS4, Fireworks CS4, Acrobat 9 Pro, Soundbooth CS4, Contribute CS4, Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Device Central CS4, Version Cue CS4 Preorder-price: 1,699 $ Contains: After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Photoshop CS4 Extended, Flash CS4 Professional, Illustrator CS4, Soundbooth CS4, Adobe OnLocation CS4, Encore CS4, Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Device Central CS4, Dynamic Link Preorder-price: 1,699 $ Contains:InDesign CS4, Photoshop CS4 Extended, Illustrator CS4, Acrobat 9 Pro, Flash CS4 Professional, Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4, Contribute CS4, After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Soundbooth CS4, Adobe OnLocation CS4, Encore CS4, Adobe Bridge CS4, Adobe Device Central CS4, Dynamic Link, Version Cue CS4 Preorder-price: 2,499$ ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS4 Because we here on Abduzeedo give you design Inspiration i'll show you some new features from Photoshop CS4. This is how it looks like. For the first time there will be two Photoshop versions (beside Photoshop Lightroom 2). The first one is the real Photoshop, with some great new features for 699 $. The second version will be the Photoshop Extended version and it will cost 999 $. As Adobe sais, the extended version is a greater programm for people who work with film and video and also for motion graphics. You now have the possibility of Breakthrough 3D editing and compositing capabilities and improved video controls to dramatically expand your creative options. Also you now can live move (via drag and drop) the psd to Adobe After Effects. But don't worry. The usualy Photoshop CS4 will also kick asses. It now has a better Adjustment panel which allow the user manage the very easy. Also there is a new Mask panel. It allows you to quickly create and edit masks. This panel offers all the tools you need to create editable pixel- and vector-based masks, adjust mask density and feathering, easily select noncontiguous objects, and more. And now comes my favourite new feature: It is called the Content Aware Scaling. Below you see two pictures. The first one is our picture we shot at the beach (picture 1). But we want to make it more wide. So the only way to do this is to transform it and scale it as wide as we like. But this will affect a lower quality of that picture. The new Photshop makes this much more better. It automatically fills the spare parts with parts from inside that picture (picture 2) so that it looks like we made it more wide. Awesome right? ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS4 Of course there will also be a new Illustrator CS4 version, which will be sold for 599 $. Illustrator created a new tool called the Blob Brush. Drawing with this brush will create a clean vector shape even when strokes overlap. The greatest feature is the new artboard. You can now create a file with up 100 artboards independent, which sizes they have. Finished files can now be saved together. Preview: For more information please visit the Adobe website where you can watch the new features of Photoshop , Illustrator or the other CS4 Products.
