The Perfect Office #1

Lately we've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have? Not only gadgets and equipment, but also furniture, sound system, gaming stuff (for lunch time!). A designer is totally allowed to dream with the perfect office, and that's what we're gonna do here! Comment telling us your suggestions, or even better, you may tell us via twitter (mine and fabio's), using #abdz_ofc so we can check it. Alright? I hope you guys enjoy this brief selection, and together we can make this an awesome new weekly post! Cheers. ;) Good Afternoon Clock The Good Afternoon clock by Japan's Mile Project almost gives the impression that time is but a ghost. Narrow rays of light that sneak through small slits in the bezel act as second, minute and hour hands. A great piece if you are already really zen about time, but perhaps nerve-wracking for those in a constant hurry. (via MoCo LoCo) Brunton Flip-N-Drip Coffee Maker Make yourself a fresh cup of joe on the run with the Brunton Flip-N-Drip Coffee Maker ($45). Simply boil water in the base, attach the brew chamber filled with your favorite coffee, and flip the unit over to begin percolating a great cup of coffee. (via Trendir) Ceramic Speakers by Joey Roth Designer Joey Roth (of Sorapot fame) recently sent us images of his sharp-looking new speakers, which soft-launched at Nooka's pop-up store at Den in NYC (see details below). Made from porcelain, wood and cork, Roth chose the materials not only for the aesthetic appeal they add to desktops, but also because porcelain's density and "acoustical deadness" rivals that of wood or plastic enabling the cone shape. (via Cool Hunting) RGB Sensor Pen This is RGB sensor pen, that analyses any object, detects its color, and instatly mixes inks so that when you write down, the color you see is the one you've picked. (via Eu Quero!) Scratch-n-Scroll noteable mousepad Can't seem to keep an unused stack of sticky notes near your dear mouse? Fret not, as the geniuses over at Quirky have popped out yet another 'well duh / must-have' product in the Scratch-n-Scroll. Rather than promising that its newest surface can help you frag more intently, smell better or just appear more heroic, this 'noteable mousepad' is apt to be one of the poorer mousing mats on the market. (via Engadget) Toshiba 5400RPM 640GB hard drives It's no speed demon, but Toshiba's newest 2.5-inch hard drive sure lets you store an awful lot of precious memories on a single unit. The 640GB MK6465GSX drive spins at 5400RPMs and is said to be the industry's largest in this form factor. The range also includes 500GB, 320GB, 250GB and 160GB models, with the whole lot shipping out to OEMs and distributors later this month. (via Engadget) Herman Miller Embody Chair After recently putting this three-layer flexible chair to the test, we found its supportive structure extremely comfortable but also appreciate its myriad customization features hidden in a minimalist appearance. The Embody chair sells online from Design Within Reach for $1400. (via Cool Hunting) G's 15-inch OLED screen Amazing how a few well framed PR shots can reignite gadget lust, just when it seems extinguished. Sure, LG's 15-inch OLED HDTV will probably follow the path of Sony's $2,500 11-inch XEL-1 to the land of ridiculously overpriced trinkets that few can or will purchase and eventually falls by the wayside when larger, cheaper options become available. (via Engadget) Asus Eee Keyboard We spotted some Asus keyboards last week, but none were nearly as potentially awesome as the official Eee Keyboard. Featuring wireless HDMI, it's a "fully functional PC" with full QWERTY and a mini secondary touchscreen. (via Gizmodo)
