Planet Unknown - Short Film

Planet Unknown - Short Film

First of all, we would like to wish Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that does celebrate today and will do for the next few days. Through all the eating sessions and resting between, we would like to share this stunning short film on Abduzeedo. The movie is called: Planet Unknown and it’s the story of a journey with as they called: Space Rovers were sent out to find potentially habitable planets. We just can’t deny that we love the approach of this film and how it just remind us of the movie Wall-E. Hope you will enjoy! Watch Now   The idea started back in 2014 when Interstellar was released. I was deeply impressed by the movie and was inspired by the two robots TARS and CASE. The idea of intellectual robots exploring space developed from there. Other inspirations include Pixar movies like WALL-E and Toy Story, as well as CHAPPiE, NASA documentaries about Mars Rover Curiosity, and short films by individuals like Alex Roman’s The Third & The Seventh, Richard Mans’ Abiogenesis, Erik Wernquist’s Wanderers, Alf Lovvold’s Dawn of the Stuff, and so many more. Video of the Week #38

It's awesome to see some superb pieces of indie works. Some time ago we checked on the Big Buck Bunny, a great animated short film... and another one is about to be released: Meet Meline. I gotta confess that it looks pretty wonderful. After two years of intense work on an independent 3D animated short film called "Meet Meline", Virginie GOYONS and Sebastien LABAN made the teaser/trailer to show you a little bit more of the short film. We're proud to present you the 46-seconds-video with the official music of "Meet Meline", composed by Guillaume ROUSSEL! The film is not out yet, so you may check fo information on the website : meetmeline.com. I bet you'll all enjoy it. Cheers! ;) MEET MELINE (2009) - TRAILER from Sebastien LABAN on Vimeo.

Video Inspiration: Vancouver Film School

Vancouver Film School, is exactly what its name tells you, a Film School in Vancouver, Canada. The students, and the school itself make very cool videos, which I'd like to share. Enjoy! The first movie is about a penguin and a wishingwell: By Josephine Gutianjo The second movie is about 2 creatures, 1 trying to cheer the other one up. By Michael Lewicki By Mauricio Bartok Ruiz Besides fun movies, there are movies on serious subjects and matters as well. A movie about the Space Station 'The Voyager' By Leo Aguiar, Jaime Arvizu and Tyler Lemermeyer By Dongkun Yoon I know I only put up animated movies, but that's because I enjoyed these most. If you want to have more on this, you can visit the official VFS website or visit The VFS Youtube Channel. I hope you enjoyed this post! Daan.

A++ Open Short Animation Film

This gotta be one of the greatest projects I've seen in the last years. It's an open movie project, which has been licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. Big Buck Bunny is its name. I'm really impressed by the results of it... really beautiful scenes, renderings, and all that. Again a small team (7) of the best 3D artists and developers in the Blender community have been invited to come together to work in Amsterdam from October 2007 until April 2008 on completing a short 3D animation movie. The team members will get a great studio facility and housing in Amsterdam, all travel costs reimbursed, and a fee sufficient to cover all expenses during the period. And their goals are really swell as well: developing tools in Blender for editing and rendering hair, fur or grass; Improve character animation tools for cartoonish motion and deformation; Test Blender with giant outdoor environments, with large grassy fields and many trees with leaves; Further validate Blender as a professional animation creation suite; Create a great and good looking animation short, licensed freely as open content; Provide content for other artists to learn from or to re-use, including documentation and tutorials; And of course: Have lots of fun! Anyone who's been part of this team is pretty lucky! Great work guys! And now, check out the whole movie bellow! You'll really like. ;) Big Buck Bunny from Blender Foundation on Vimeo. For a whole bunch of other downloading formats, you may visit the Official Big Buck Bunny Project site. Cheers!
