Yesterday I finally finished the layout for a project we're doing. I had to use a wood texture in the background, but finding one that was nice enough was quite difficult. Then after I had finished it, I began looking for textures at DeviantART, and that is the ultimate place for textures.
A cool texture will pimp your designs for sure... and from time to time, we find the best resources so that you don't have to do it. Also, if you got plenty textures, you may practice a lot, trying different styles of texture, from wood to rock, and other stuff.
We have already featured quite a few images from Adrien DONOT and because of that we wanted to feature him with a full post. Adrien is a digital artist from Paris, France, and he has some amazing images mixing all sorts of effects, like spray splatters with photography.

I know one thing for sure: everybody loves free textures, and finding these and sharing is one thing the Abduzeedo staff loves to do. So check this great selection right know! From organic to metal rust, this list has lots of great textures.

One of the greatest things about the internet is that you always manage to find great sources of textures, templates, inspiration and everything that might help you come up with some good design.
Sometimes we have a hard time finding resources on the web. The right font, a cool pattern, a sweet texture. When we talk about textures, it's cool to have a lot of options... and there's a great site, CG Textures, with hundreds of free textures.
Textures are always useful and necessary to give to your design a more natural feeling, not so digital. We can use them in many ways, but the most common is for backgrounds, however in my case I was looking for good textures for some Photoshop Displace Filter experiments.
In this post I will list some nice wooden textures I came across on flickr and other sites.
Internet it's the best resource for everything you might look for. Looking for Photoshop brushes? You got it. Cool pictures? Sure! What about textures?
