After a couple of weeks playing with Pixelmator, I decided to finish a image I was working on in Photoshop, it was an underwater scene. I had done some experiments before but I wasn’t sure if that was the effect I wanted. However this last image I think is pretty good so I decided to share with you for some feedback and I will be publishing a tutorial showing how I did that pretty soon.

Our last Wallpaper of the Week was an image I had created using Pixelmator, and I really liked the outcome. The best part about it was that it was pretty easy to accomplish in Pixelmator, but I decided for perspective's sake to create the same effect in Photoshop. The process is easy as well, but with a few extra steps.

One of the best ways to create spectacular abstract effects in Photoshop is by using brushes. They save you time and make the process less complicated. However, taking the time to find high quality brushes isn't all that fun, so I've compiled a list of 11 high quality abstract brushes from various designers which I hope will be useful to you.

In this tutorial I will show how to create curtains and other nice effects in Photoshop. When I was traveling I was always thinking about some ideas for wallpapers for Abduzeedo. Concepts that would show what the blog is about and of course, related to the Space subject. That was when I had this idea of an alien behind curtains.

This is not new, I have already shown this effect a few times but as last week I created a wallpaper for CSNGLOBAL, using an image of a guy painting their logo and I have received some emails asking me to write a tutorial, I decided to do that.

A few days ago I took sometime to try some tutorials I read such as the really cool Dramatic Text on Fire Effect in Photoshop by Collis from PSDTUTS, and put some 3D typography ideas into practice. My idea was to create a 3D text with fire coming from the inside of the document like a hole.

Last week wrote a post about video tutorials and thought I would start making some. So yesterday, even though I’m on vacations and it was Sunday I decided to try some tools and see how they would work. I did a very short tutorial just to see how long I would take to create a tutorial and how hard that task would be.

Last night I was reading the news and I saw that PSDTUTS now has a video page on VIMEO. I checked that out and it’s really good. They are making videos of the PSDTUTS tutorials. There are some of my tuts in video already, so I decided to share here too.
