Ultimate One Color Logos Inspiration

April 06, 2009 from abduzeedo's blog

Last week I was working on a logo design project for a popular Brazilian blog. One of the requirements was that the logo had to be simple, so I started looking for some references. One of the best sites about logos is Logopond. They simple have tons of logos on their website, but one of the biggest problems is that, sometimes, it's a bit hard to find an specific type of logo... in my case, one color logos.

Logopond was very useful for my logo project. I found amazing logos with some really clever and creative solutions for logos without using gradients or more than one color. Because of that, below I list some of the logos I found.

GIMP Quick Tips: Abstract Background Effect
I was thinking a few days ago, what I should do, what I could create. I entered in some sort of a minor art block, when I took a look at my old design. One of them caught my eye. It was one of my old GIMP experiments. I couldn't remember anything about how I made it, but it looked awsome, so i saw in this a challenge. Finally, I managed to remember and put back together a quick step-by-step tutorial.

Book Suggestion - Poke the Box
The book of this week is Poke the Box. Written by Seth Godin, Poke the Box is very inspiring and motivating about initiating and shipping. It makes you think about so many things and makes you want to make things happen. If you're stuck at the starting line, you don't need more time or permission. You don’t need to wait for a boss’s okay or to be told to push the button; you just need to poke.
