Univerciudad Illustration Case Study

October 29, 2009 from paul0v2's blog

In this case study we will show how Luis Inciarte a designer from Venezuela created a great illustration that features such characters as The Terminator, The Joker, Tony Montana, Gollum and Dark Vader. Check it out!!

Univerciudad Issue #4 - Illustration:

This was a commisioned illustration from a new magazine called "UNIVERCIUDAD".

The topic was "Don't Die Without Watching... Movies That Have Touched Our Generation".

They gave me some famous movie quotes and wanted an illustration based on that topic, they gave me a very general outline of what they wanted and this is what was produced. Inspired by 70's Grindhouse movie posters, black and white figures over a saturated and plain colored background.

The characters chosen were The Terminator, The Joker, Tony Montana, Gollum and Darth Vader.

I hadn't done any illustrations in about 3 years, so im very proud of this one.
