Univerciudad Issue #4 - Illustration:
This was a commisioned illustration from a new magazine called "UNIVERCIUDAD".
The topic was "Don't Die Without Watching... Movies That Have Touched Our Generation".
They gave me some famous movie quotes and wanted an illustration based on that topic, they gave me a very general outline of what they wanted and this is what was produced. Inspired by 70's Grindhouse movie posters, black and white figures over a saturated and plain colored background.
The characters chosen were The Terminator, The Joker, Tony Montana, Gollum and Darth Vader.
I hadn't done any illustrations in about 3 years, so im very proud of this one.

Jee Young Lee is a Korean artist that really knows how to convert her small studio space (11.8′ x 13.5′ x 7.8′) in Seoul, Korea into some really absurd and beautiful dreamscapes. Every single detail is made by hand, from the lighting, the suspended objects and the center elements. Everything added into the set of taking one final photograph. Such a incredible act of determination of sharing her own stories and vision.
Fun Fact : According to Jee Young Lee, there was no Photoshop involved in the following images.
Either that you have a full-time job, contract-based or purely freelance; as designers we should always make room for personal/experimental projects. There's a ton of reasons why it's a great thing to keep that healthy balance with your creativity, your will of making things and finding ways to get away from boredom and eventually burning yourself out. KIDMOGRAPH is a great example of someone who always finds time to explore and keeping his goals on target.

Saturdays are usually a day off for me but this Saturday while surfing the web I saw this beautiful illustration project by M A D E B Y R A D I O. I really like the style, very geometric and colorful so of course I had to feature them here on Abduzeedo.
