Video of the Week #45

July 13, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

Some time ago we had a post featuring some beautiful infographics. There was a bunch of great data visualization settings, which I find awesome. Today, I've found a very clever infographic video.

Made for a class project by Tomas Nilsson, this video features the classic Little Red Riding Hood story. And it's all about information, what makes it a totally cool video, which I know you'll love. That said, enjoy! ;)

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a design inspired by the Dreamworks logo, with fluffy clouds and some light effects. We will use the clouds brush that comes with Pixelmator and some stock photos. The whole process will take about one hour. This tutorial is part of a series of tutorials I have been writing for the Pixelmator Learn site.

Book Suggestion

Book Suggestion - Poke the Box
Book Suggestion - Poke the Box
The book of this week is Poke the Box. Written by Seth Godin, Poke the Box is very inspiring and motivating about initiating and shipping. It makes you think about so many things and makes you want to make things happen. If you're stuck at the starting line, you don't need more time or permission. You don’t need to wait for a boss’s okay or to be told to push the button; you just need to poke.
