Following our hit series about Web Design, today I bring to you only awesome black layouts! Man, I love these... It's incredible how a layout can get beautiful with darker colors.
And of course, when you work with black, the right colors will bring just the right contrast. Lime-green, Orange, Electro-Pink... most shocking colors will bring awesome life to the layout. Of course, checking this sites you'll get to see many examples of how to apply colors in a black layout. Some of these are not pure black, 'cause if I start to name all the shades of black, grey and other monochromatic colors I'm gonna enter an eternal loop. So, I just hope you all enjoy my selection. I'm loving black styling, my unfinished blog (xander.am0.co.uk) is black and it just works really well.
Admittedly, my display brightness is not *that* high and there's light coming from behind, but seriously, this'd have more credibility if you didn't use hardly readable grey-on-black text... :P

Sea interactive is one of my favourites of this list! I like black layouts very well, they always express somekind of deepness.

Honestly, I've never felt I could design a "good" site with a black background. However, I'm going to tuck away this list as inspiration and have another go at it. Thanks for the post.

This is a great list. I saw many of these sites (including this one) as I was deciding whether or not to do one myself. It's still under construction but I launched mine recently as well.

Great sites! Love abduzeedo.com, I'm a big fan :) Another good black layout can be found at UCreative.com. It's a graphic design inspiration gallery, so we went with the black scheme to really put all the emphasis on the user uploaded art work. It's a very clean design with simple navigation. Hope you like!
