Web Design: Illustrated Layouts

May 27, 2011 from PauloGabriel's blog

Back in 2008 I made a nice little post about illustrated websites and I thought it would be a good idea to make a new one with fresh layouts because we've seen many new layouts since then.

These are quite awesome and I think it's great to see that even though designers are not designing fully illustrated sites anymore, they are still doing good use of few illustrated elements in their designs. An illustration here and there and that's just enough. How do you like these? Do you think that it 2008's layouts were better or has evolution took place? Tell us! Also, if you know any more good illustrated websites, drop us the link, ok? Enjoy! Cheers. ;)

Photoshop Quick Tips #8: Making a Planet
I know a lot a people think it must take hours to make a planet and it's too much work to do it, well in some cases yes, but today I will be showing how to make a simple Planet in Photoshop that should take less than 10 min and it's very useful to implement in other images. To begin with my creation the only thing we need is a texture to use it on the planet, it doesn't need any special texture, just a regular rusty texture will do it.
