Where The Wild Things Are Tribute

October 19, 2009 from amanda's blog

After the October 16th premiere of Spike Jonze's adaptation of the classic Where The Wild Things Are, a Wild Things madness has hit! For those of you unfamiliar, Where The Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's book by Maurice Sendak that has grown to become loved by both children and adults alike for generations.

It tells the story of Max, who one evening plays around his home, "making mischief" in a wolf costume. As punishment, his mother sends him to bed without supper. In his room, a mysterious, wild forest and sea grows out of his imagination, and Max sails to the land of the Wild Things. The Wild Things are fearsome-looking monsters, but Max conquers them "by staring into their yellow eyes without blinking once", and he is made "the King of all Wild Things", dancing with the monsters in a "wild rumpus". However, he soon finds himself lonely and homesick, and he returns home to his bedroom, where he finds his supper waiting for him, still hot. -Wikipedia

If you haven't seen the movie yet, go right now! The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and the soundtrack by Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is fantastic! It's hard to go wrong with such a wonderful collaboration of artists. So in honor of the beloved classic, I went on the lookout for all things wild and compiled this collection for you guys today. Let me know what you thought of Spike's adaptation via Twitter or Facebook, or just feel free to profess your undying love for the wild things with me! I'd love to hear from you!

Photoshop Video Tutorial Experiment 1
Last week wrote a post about video tutorials and thought I would start making some. So yesterday, even though I’m on vacations and it was Sunday I decided to try some tools and see how they would work. I did a very short tutorial just to see how long I would take to create a tutorial and how hard that task would be. Even though I didn’t speak through the tutorial it’s very easy to follow. But the next one I promise I will use my beautiful voice, yeah right.
